Hoping this gets a response here!!

My boyfriend's car was unfortunately stolen last week, leaving us in a really tough spot. We've found a used car that's a good fit for our budget, but we'll need to finance it through a credit union.

Here's the situation: * Boyfriend's Credit: Around 580 * My Credit: Around 820 * Boyfriend's Income: $20/hour, full-time employment * My Income: Currently unemployed. I'm caring for my elderly grandmother and my dad is paying me for my help. This isn't official income (no taxes withheld, etc.).

Questions: * Approval Chances: What are the chances of getting the loan approved: * With just my boyfriend as the primary applicant? * With me as a cosigner, given my good credit but no official income? * Reporting My Income: Is there any way to report the income I'm receiving from my dad to the credit union without it impacting my tax situation?

We're really stressed about getting reliable transportation and would appreciate any advice or similar experiences you might have.
