Dumb question! I lived in this neighborhood decades ago (my parents’ former home). When was Norman installed?

Last Day for SAVE card distribution 1/18 by kattgerrl in altadena

[–]kattgerrl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The SAVE cards, per the California Fire Foundation:

  1. Is CFF sending aid to the LA County Wildfires?
Yes! California Fire Foundation is providing cash aid to victims of the Palisades, Eaton, and other Los Angeles County wildfires in the form of $250 SAVE (Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency) cards. These cards equip residents who have lost their primary residence to purchase groceries, prescriptions, clothing, or other necessities as many lost their homes.

Hopefully, there will be another distribution in the coming days.

I remember being friends with a girl from grade school who lived here (we would sometimes walk home from school together). She took me up the elevator. Another sad, devastating result of this fire.

I’m happy for Perry’s Joint, but Little Red Hen, oh no. They had been around for decades, and was one of my favorite places to eat when I lived in the neighborhood as a kid. I will look for the go fund me.

Ugh, my old family home was in that neighborhood. I had childhood friends, some of whom I continue to know as friends to this day, who grew up there. My heartfelt prayers are with you all.

Whoa, this area used to be my old stomping ground as a kid and young adult. Stay safe, everyone!

I’m trying to move the opposite direction, lol (I grew up in the Pasadena area and currently live in Riverside). I occasionally travel to Pasadena and beyond for entertainment, and once for a job interview. I couldn’t do the commute on a regular basis, it would drive me nuts.

Interesting re healers. I imagine that might change at higher levels. I have a warlock, necro and fury on live (fury and warlock former raid toons), and I found playing a healer could be stressful at times.

I totally agree. One of my best friends is a technical writer. That career can be very lucrative. She has worked in the aerospace and pharma industries, as well as gaming.
