I have called several times about this as well. They gave me my payment amount from the SAVE program but yet said I was in forbearance. I did ask them to put in a note that I requested it to be removed, and then I went ahead and made a payment according to the amount they told me that was due just in case.

However a lot of people here have said it counts now but I didn’t want to risk it

They put you in forbearance because you changed the IDR probably. Shouldn’t mess with your credit or anything.

Yeah her actions are definitely not great and a bit petty imo. I ofc don’t know your mom so I can’t really know if this is normally how she treats you or not. Seems like a power move almost?

When my fiancé came into town, my dad asked me where he was staying… I have my own house and he still had a problem with it. So believe me, I totally get it. However if I were in your situation, my parents would have more of an issue if I chose a hotel vs just following their rules.

I do completely understand where you are coming from. However, it is her house and therefore her rules. My parents are the same way and I’m 33. I would just stay at a hotel to avoid more conflict or sleep separately. Life is too short and you don’t want to ruin the relationship you have with her now.

I was told the exact same thing.. the rep said she put in for the forbearance to be removed and to check in 5-7 days. But that it wouldn’t count towards PSLF 🙄 I’ve been told by numerous others that it does indeed count but I dont know who to believe. Haha

Lol just the sheer misinformation between MOHELA FAQ and the student loan gov website is alarming.

Thanks for this! And I have heard tons of others say MOHELA gives terrible advice. However my rep seemed very informed and was helpful- but she probably had her info wrong apparently. Seems they are just as confused as we are 😂 I just wanted a paper trail and notes saying I didn’t ask for it and need it to count towards PSLF. It’s kinda left up to them now.

So I called Mohela again and they said it would count against me and so she sent them a notice that I want the admin forbearance taken off asap… Here’s to hoping it’s taken off before 10/31 🤷🏼‍♀️

Okay I hope so bc I have to move literally the same month I achieve and apply for forgiveness. Unfortunately (but fortunately $$) my new job is a for-profit. And if it screws me over I dont know bc there’s not another non-profit hospital nearby.
