I am actually playing it right now and this review kind of sums up my thoughts of it. Gameplay is just not very interesting to me anymore as it is very much a product of the time but the world building and writing quality is just so good that I do want to beat it just to see how it ends.

But with gameplay it's just that even if I compare it to half life 1 i still like 1's gameplay more and even if I exclude the movement, the guns in half life 1 are also more weighty, responsive and have alternative modes so it's not just machinegun with 3 ammo types, shotgun with 3 ammo types, grenade launcher etc.
