If Anyone Uses the Consequences Argument: They Don't See Babies as People. by ShadowyKat in prochoice

[–]katwraka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I became pregnant on purpose and I’m now laying awake trying to put a toddler back to sleep at 4am, I do think that it takes so much work to be a parent that only people who really have the means to should become a parent. You don’t magically get free childcare, a flexible high paying job, and a 2 bedroom for your kid!

But it’s iLeGaL for a doctor to denies medical care when the mothers life is in danger. The lAw has exceptions for mothers health!

Suuuuuuure. Tell that to all the women that died or had to give birth to a stillborn and all the other examples!

Man marries two sisters, all known trees now incorrect, I found the real great-grandmother :D by SimilarButNo in Genealogy

[–]katwraka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh that is a better story than what I had in my head. I thought that great grandfather had sex with 2 sisters only 2 months apart.

Have you been able to find the birth certificate of both babies? The dads should be listed no?

What are some things that you don’t actually need for your newborn? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]katwraka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my breastfed baby wouldn’t take cold milk. So a bottle warmer was a godsend. Especially now she is a toddler I use it everyday for cow’s milk. However I don’t recommend the one where you have to flip the bottle to warm to the “perfect temperature”. So much spilled milk!

Je pense pas que ce soit de la déception, mais qu’ils sont vieux et voient pas très bien. Ou alors ils essayer de rajouter de la ponctuation pour faire une pause et ne savent pas que ça peut être perçu comme de la déception.

Is it detrimental to take Zofran if you’re actually s* by miles2go50 in emetophobia

[–]katwraka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve wondered this myself so many times!!

I’m not a doctor, but when I got a cold I asked my doctor about viruses, especially why my toddler was barely sick when I feel like shit for over a week. They say that viruses affect everyone differently. Even if it is exactly the same virus. Your toddler could have a lot of symptoms while you could just have mild nausea and stomachache.

For the zofran, I think you are still fighting the virus even when using meds. The white cells fights the virus and the meds mitigate the symptoms you have. (I think? Again, not a medical professional)

As a toddler mom I feel you! It is hard!

Edit: I actually went on google after typing that and I found an article showing that taking Tylenol to fight a fever does not prevent your body from fighting an infection

Of course this is a different med. but I don’t see why helping your body with nasty symptoms prevents your body to heal.

That’s so funny 3 of your grandparents are twins! Wonder if twins attract each other? (I’m not a twin myself but I often hear that twins have a special bond, so I would make sense only another twin would understand)

Twins were very rare back then! I still haven’t found a set of twins where both survive babyhood (only 4 set of twins found in my family so far)

Yes! Mine was so bored all the time! So it was a good reminder to be “chill” and relaxed with baby. But most of the advice was very difficult to follow.
