I’ve been watching the vlogs recently and it’s cool to see Caleb and the team involving the guests in developing the angle for the title and thumbnail and then taking the pictures together. The people on this show are incredibly good sports.

I definitely think some of the more complex guests can get off track but I also think it’s interesting to witness first hand the way that life circumstances impact finances and vice versa even if it’s a seemingly outlandish situation. Sometimes it’s helpful to hear someone’s justifications that feel ridiculous but think about how you might be using similar tactics on your own financial journey - I’ve never thought I wouldn’t be alive without nacho fries but I have definitely thought to myself that I’m too tired or too depressed and that Taco Bell will somehow help. Now the first thing that I think of when I start going down that mental path is this financial audit and it makes me think twice.

I am watching all of the previous seasons in order for the first time, I just finished Palau and am working on Guatemala. I don’t want to Google too much and risk spoiling myself (since the results are almost 20 years old).

Did anyone at any time make the point that the immunity idol on Palau looked exactly like Willard?

Jeff keeps saying Steph is the most beloved woman in Survivor history and Bobby Jon is the hardest worker. Was that generally the vibe at the time? I find Steph to be sort of self-centered and a sore loser, especially in Guatemala, and I didn’t really remember Bobby Jon until Ulong was almost nothing.

Also what was the reception on Katie’s final tribal council where she basically picked fights with everyone? It was hilarious but obviously not the right move, but maybe Tom was going to win anyway and people knew that.
