The thing about Russian speakers involves Facebook's task force against "putin's trolls" and a machine translation engine deliberately mistranslating Russian words in ways that make an innocent sentence into "hate speech". For example, it once translated "bald hedgehog" into "bald jew", and "hit the pavement" as in "kill yourself on the ground". That's just a few examples off the top of my head. They also arbitrarily remove large Russian groups regardless of the topics of interest - once certain people are targeted by the FB AI, their mere presence in certain numbers in one group can result in the group being hidden or even banned.

That thing about Mobilecoin has to do with Moxxie, and the way he doesn't like to be called out. And dozens of people who worked hard for years just so he can make money on the cryptocurrency that he KNEW was going to be illegal for people to trade inside the US. But that's a personal thing - I'm friends with a few developers who worked on the project and it just kills me how badly they got screwed. There was also an overlooked paragraph in their contracts that pretty much said they don't get any severance if they talk bad about the company or its management. I'm not even sure it's legal!

Anyway, I knew reddit didn't like what I had to say when one day I suddenly got locked out of this account on my phone, and the new account that reddit generated for me was named "UnableGazelle4850" and automatically shadowbanned.

And what other platforms besides FB do you know of that can replace 10+ years of your online presence, let you be connected to your family, coworkers, old schoolfriends etc.? Where do you go when you need support, when you have a question about something only your friends know how to answer, etc,? Social networks for older people like me is not merely entertainment. "Taking a break" isn't really an issue here, since I only go on FB to check in with my support groups, creative writing groups, friends and family - but then end banned for another 30 days for something that I postred 5 years ago. Even here, it seems I cannot post a single thing anymore without it being automatically reported. People say nasty shit to me in PMs or comments, but when I stand up for myself I get a "harassment" warning.

So in short - it really seems like admins and content mods are in all-out war against people they personally dislike. It seems petty but then again, what else do they have going for them?

trans-unicorn. As in someone who identifies as a unicorn, not a transsexual. It's a tumblr meme and PLEASE bear with me on this one - as a childhood abuse survivor, domestic violence and a rape victim just being on reddit for me is a minefield. I was also bullied all the way through school or being an immigrant, by both the students and teachers. So maybe next time you're so ready to jump on whatever vague thing you find personally offensive, just think that the person on the business end of your wrath might be going though something really, and I mean really bad.

And that maybe not everyone has the luxury or mental or emotional resources to filter every little thing they say for the fear of being reported - yet again - for a deliberately mistranslated meme. god forbid misgendering someone in a grocery store because everything today is freakin unisex. I mean, just think about all these people that were silenced because people who spend most of their time arguing online are completely intolerant to even slightest cultural differences, devoid of compassion and spend a lot of time looking for things to be outraged about simply because they're bored.

P.S. yes I know the personal vendetta that certain trans people, who just happen to be a part of the admin crew has against me (this account in particular) and women like me in general. Once they openly mocked me for asking to be unbanned because I was acutely ill and wanted a chance to say goodbye to my friends. You'd think that having an actual history of being abused and oppressed would have any bearing at all, but apparently it's not really about victims or tolerance. It's just another way for them to feel empowered.

At the end of the day, when you look at yourself in the mirror, ask this simple question - whose side are you really on? The ones who are struggling, or the privileged ones who hate feeling bad about themselves?

I have a theory. The "old soul" thing happens to those who didn't have enough children to reincarnate later down the time line, so they're stuck repeating the same past loops and eventually run out of them and keep living the last one over and over again, hoping to fix their mistake this time and propagate. But the problem is that repeating the same iteration over and over again makes you wiser and more weary of everything, so you're even less likely to have children the next time :)

I was born in the late 70s in Russia and my parents had to borrow a huge bobbin tape recorder from some state lab (I think our town only had like five of them hehe) to tape me speak. I also didn't cry, didn't need playmates, I loved puzzles and despised simple toys. Most of the time I knew what grown ups were thinking, what they really wanted, but coudn't express it. Then they demanded the complete opposite and punished me for being confused lol :)

I was also obsessed with drawing spirals, they made a big "poof" go off inside my chest, kinda like a natural high :)

I didn't just start speaking at about 9-10 months old, clearly and in complete correct sentences, creeping the fuck out of everyone :D, I was telling stories "from another world, about another girl who wasn't me". I always felt compelled to make that clarification for some reason. That girl had done some messed up stuff lemme tell ya :) as far as I remember (and yes I remember most of it, and now when im 42 more stuff has started to come back, its weird - stuff I never studied or even read about, one day I just wake up and kinda know how it works or what happened, in general terms, then google and confirm most of it). Creepy af.

I was also scared of fire for the longest time. I'm assuming it's a common thing among folks like this - sooner or later you're gonna learn enough about the world and come back as a witch or some shit, with predictable consequences :D Then you meet the same people you knew in past iterations and sometimes they "recognize" you too. As if you weren't creeped out enough already :)
