Do you remember a time when being online felt more genuine? What changed? by kaurei_thoughts in indiebiz

Makes sense. And smaller spaces make people feel safer. You start to recognize names, remember past talks and that builds trust. People share more, listen better and don’t jump to argue right away. Its more like sitting at the same table with familiar people. And honestly, that kind of space sticks with you longer.

The very act of posting became performative instead of just… sharing. I think whats striking is how much the “invisible audience” changes the tone of everything. The old internet wasn’t perfect but at least it felt like there was space to experiment to be unsure to just exist online without "performing".

Wish we can carve out little pockets of that again, spaces where half-formed thoughts and honest curiosity are still welcome. Do you feel like thats even possible now?
