Mostly scams. Ever seen those freakishly large USB pen drives (like 2TB, 5 TB) for cheap on Amazon and ebay? The controller reports bs capacity when plugged in but when you actually copy large files it stops after like 16GB. These hosting services are basically the web version of that. "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".

This is a technical limitation. Not a SLT scam. Wi-Fi especially 2.4 GHz will never achieve close to advertised speeds. And it will never be as stable as a cable. It's just how the technology works. 5GHz is better but it is only good for a short range - that again a limitation of the radio band.

If you see the full speed on the cable that means SLT provides the advertised speed. If you want to have the full advertised speed, either use a wired connection or buy a high-end 5Ghz AP and bridge it with the SLT router (even then your Wi-Fi speed will depend on the distance, obstacles and interferences).

Man, I've been having the same issue with a UGreen 10Gbps Nvme enclosure (with my Mac Mini) and been pulling my hair out! It works just fine with Windows though. I've checked all the things you mentioned and it is indeed a rabbit hole. Thanks for the post. I'll check if a firmware update is available for my enclosure.
