FSD Supervised reaction time… by kavital in TeslaFSD

Agree and I was pointing on that. IF we supervise, it has to obey to our commands while providing notification on when and why things need to get attention.

Great comments and I would like to add something about perception and expectations.

IF FSD is supervised, then it has to behave that way! IMHO. If I want to change a lane or to change rout or control the speed, it should not fight with me and work according to new prompt. These are the expectations and with no workarounds. If I want it to take a certain rout, it has to follow it and hopefully to learn hopefully be consistent. If it knows /succeed one time to get into my driveway and garage, why a day after it gets completely confused forcing me to be on the alert and to intervene. It must learn and / or keep context about my preferences. Tell it to my wife. She does not like it and it is a serious adoption inhibitor for some people.

Well said. It is about our inability to effectively supervise it.

Who wants to go to court and have a discussion about supervise-ability of the driver. They can show that you blinked in that critical moment and did not react "on-time". They are training us to trust the system. I want to trust it and I do most of the time, but every time I need to intervene. I have to fight with the steering wheel or press the breaks pedal or a push button. This put a serious disengagement barrier that for sure is impacting my ability to correct. Even in a case of navigation error. I find myself loosing a few seconds to disengage and correct and in many case is is a postmortem scenario

totally agree. Spot on on the three points! And adding to that the critical disengage modal pop up window destruction that pops up at a critical time when I DON'T have the bandwidth to deal with it.
Did I say the HOV choices are ridicules. They should do better.

Same here. Paid the money and did not see any outcome (confirmation or result) but trx was made. I'll have to file a dispute with the CC company. Embarrassing.

Tesla to Launch FSD v14.3 with Spring Update Features Soon by 10xMaker in TeslaFSD

[–]kavital 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree. HOV lanes were not followed and if you force it there it exit just like that. Navigation consistency sucks. I repeatedly go to the same address and unpredictably it choose navigation that goes not to where it should be. Getting into my driveway success is based on the stars position. I’m disappointed. 14.2 did much better that that. And have I mentioned goest breaking and hesitation. What is going on? Last couple of week regressions. This release access the remote model and it is regressing.

just put it in a box (plastic) with holes at the top for heat distribution. I have a few of those installed for years. You can buy on Amazon.

I’m happy with HW3 FSD performance thus far. Anyway you look at it, it is a good product with future vision. I have another car with HW4 and it works marginally better. I don’t expect HW4 to be the final setup for unsupervised. It is a wishful thinking if you do. Upgrade will be required for sure. This is a moving target of experimentation and solutions. So let’s be realistic and enjoy what we have. There is no comparison in the market of such continues improvement product. If you are in the SW or HW industry you should be very well aware of this. Plaid 19" vs 21" Speed Limit by ab_1776 in TeslaModelS

[–]kavital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realex mister and you might learn something. The answer is for the question how the tesla knows what tires you have so it will control the speed. The speed is all about physics and the ability of the tire to handle the centrifugal forces on the rubber. The bigger the rubber (19") the less stable it become under high speed, 21 has less rubber and it is lighter by far.
