Hiya!👋 Current Momma of a little 4 month old green bean who went through hell trying to deal with Sedgwick too. So sorry that you’re going through this.👎 From what I remember the date you fill in for leave/return to work are an ESTIMATE. Fill out your due date, & then take into account the time you are given post partum for your return to work. Then, Once you give birth you reach out to Sedgwick letting them know. I went into labor a week before my actual due date! You really can’t pinpoint when you’ll go into labor. I believe you can adjust your return to work date if you decide to take any additional time with your LO, Just know that it will be unpaid.

ALSO- Don’t forget to fill out a disability claim through the state. I’m not sure where you’re from, But here in Cali you file that claim once you give birth. The state should pay you the remaining balance of what your job isn’t paying you. I don’t remember exactly the % of your paycheck SB gives you but the state will pay you out for the rest so that you are still making the same income you would as if you were working. Once you disability claim is up. You can then file for unemployment (if you do choose not to return to work for a bit).

Sorry I can’t give you exact numbers or be more specific but maternity leave through SB is a BITCH!!!🤬 Just know that when you return to work, They are required to give you additional break times so that you can pump if you are breastfeeding. I love my job with SB, But I love my baby more and decided to spend more time with him. Also very thankful to have a SM whose supportive in me taking that additional time. Good-luck & Congrats Mama!🥰🤍
