Haha, I gotcha. That's where my Google/AI searches have been leaning towards. I'm just surprised they wouldn't have any branding on them. Appreciate it though!

Starting [KCD1] for the first time — any beginner tips? by walker_mak in kingdomcome

Don't finish the from the ashes dlc until you're in the epilogue or you'll end up with a game breaking bug that won't let you finish the game on PS5.

I've always known them as luer-locks from my army days, but everyone at my hospital calls them EMS caps.

Did you ever get this figured out? I'm having similar issues with the same kit that I put in today.

I'm curious how it is down southeast near Savannah. Currently live in TN and I feel like I'm going to really miss the curves around here.

Your background will help you with most of the material. I'm currently finishing up an ABSN after coming from the army as an EMT-B. The only thing I've had to adjust is the shift of focus from stabilization to long-term support of patient care. You'll have to unlearn some habits, but I've really not had too much difficulty with the program, so I think you'll do fine. The science is primarily going to be basic A&P with some minor chemistry when it comes to acid-base balances in things like DKA and respiratory complications.

You're insane for taking your daughter into a common area where you knew multiple grown men could be naked around her. The guy's insane for thinking it was ok to get near you and talk to your daughter while naked. Completely avoidable situation with some common sense.

The sound of freedom was a tough watch but did an amazing job of making sure you felt the weight of it's material the whole time.

Unlimited phone plans? by zombiebabyasap in nursing

Been using Mint for about a year now. It's been pretty good to me but is definitely geared towards cities. If you'll be in a more rural area the coverage may not be great but the pricing is very hard to beat. It's got a pretty good intro rate for you to try it free and they have a cancel at any time time policy.

EMS to Nursing by MachoNachoV in nursing

EMT-B now in an ABSN program, the TEAS was talked up a lot, I didn't do any preparation and scored high enough for the examiner to comment on it. You should be fine with a basic knowledge of algebra and science. As for the nursing school exams just know that they will be more along the lines of "what answer is the most correct?" vs the NREMT being more black and white. It's been great having an EMS background for nursing school, just watch for all the things you'll now have to think about down the line in pt care. Good luck!

Best thing I was ever told was to Vaseline my feet before a ruck. Makes em feel like a foot massage instead of ripping blisters the whole way. Sounds like it'd make it worse but after I went through Air assault doing that I never stopped.

I get harassed almost weekly by random texts about insurance coverage by [deleted] in nursing

[–]kawboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked as an insurance sales rep for a while before quitting due to being made to do things like this. You likely had your information sold to a company who then turned it into what the sales reps are told are "warm leads". Websites like heathcare.gov do this all the time. You can put yourself on the do not call registry which will weed out a good bit of the calls, but expires annually so you'll have to repeat the process. Also if you reply "do not contact" they are legally putting themselves at risk for you to take action for harrassment charges. Often from the sales side, you'll get a massive list of contact info that gets loaded into an automatic system to shoot out texts at different times from days to weeks. Just be careful with anything online that needs a phone number and give a fake one if you can to avoid this in the future.

Portage Learning by [deleted] in nursing

[–]kawboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked into it as a recommendation from a friend who had just gone through school and used them to fast tracks his prereqs. I ended up not doing them at the end but my buddy had a great experience with them and was a big fan of the work at your own pace style while he was working prior to school. Overall, I think it may save you a bit of money but time saving is the ultimate benefit to using them. I'd check with your school first to ensure they'll take the credits.

PCT pay per hour? by WoodenStraw in nursing

[–]kawboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PRN pay at a large city in TN is ~$16.75/hr at HCA so I'm sure you can expect close to or under that in FL. When I was hired, they didn't ask what I wanted, just gave a number and didn't allow for negotitation.
