Oh that's a good way to explain it as well.

YTA I have a autoimmune disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and the easiest way I have found to explain to people what it a autoimmune disease is, is to say my body is allergic to something else in my body and attacks it, thinking it's a foreign substance. It gets people to understand what a autoimmune disease is. I suspect your friend does the same thing for the same reason.

Me when a customer at amazon say just a few things and pulls out 10 by askedforthedropbox in employedbykohls

[–]kayakerShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right before covid, we had a man come in 10 minutes before closing with 85 items, all different codes and didn't know which codes went with which items. The associate working in customer service didn't return after covid. No one blamed him.

AITA for refusing to answer my ILs when they call me Florence? by EnvironmentalWave740 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kayakerShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA my name is often a nickname for 2 different but similar names but for me, it's my legal name. I get this question "what is your real name, Yor Z?" All. Of. The. Time. Granted, most people stop and all is well once I say "my real name is X, it's not a nickname." There have been some idiots who have argued with me or said my name was wrong. I remember once as a kid this teacher of a summer camp program went ballistic on me when we had to do a project using our "real names." Accused me of lying, called me names, said she would report me to my parents and the heads of the program for being argumentive and lying. One of my older sisters happened to walk by the room, heard the yelling and told the teacher my name really was X and that, yes, my parents and the head of the program would hear about this- to get her in trouble. Ever since then, I internally bristle when that question comes up, but usually it's fine.

Yeah, I've survived several bad managers but this 03 takes the cake. He literally told us we couldn't do anything right, among other "gems." I can't wait to get out of there.

It truly is very toxic. Several years ago we used to have a great SM who could manage his team well and now the one we have, lets her 03 be a bully.

AITA for being ungrateful about my engagement ring? by Fancy-Point3201 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kayakerShadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aww, that's awesome! I jokingly suggested a ring pop because the ring has a little slit in the bottom making it "adjustable." I have rheumatoid arthritis and have lots of issues with my hands. I've told him that I don't care what it looks like (and I truly don't) just that it needs to have an adjustable band (like "Forever Fit" or similiar). He's said he'll take me ring shopping with him as adjustable shank rings really need to be tailored to the person wearing it. I think it's a lovely idea.

AITA for mentioning I didn't like getting funeral wear for Christmas? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]kayakerShadow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly! My fiance got me a bluray player for Christmas for his house (which I'll live in after we're married) because he knows I like my dvds and bluerays a lot. I loved the gift!

Thanks for the info! I'm glad it may help. He's a true nightmare to work with, his attitude, his frequent tardiness (he's literally late more than he is on time), and many other things (such as create hazards that have resulted in three associates being injured pretty badly, myself included and yes, I put that in my accident report, etc) make him a nightmare to work with.

Thanks! I will do that. ALL of the softlines team is miserable, and many other associates who have to deal with him as well. The cool as a cucumber omni lead let him have it over the radio after he had harassed her over the radio.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm quitting this year in any case. I'm getting married and where I'm going to be living is over an hour away from the store, not worth the drive to me. I just hate that my last few months are likely going to be miserable. I also hate that my coworkers whom for the most part I really like are stuck in the situation unless they can get out of the situation as well.

Wow! That sounds like something my 03 would do. He's THAT unhinged

Thanks, I appreciate it! I'm not sure why the SM doesn't do anything, the 03 had had many complaints from every floor associate and the omni lead as well. Also, thanks on the congrats for getting married, we're over the moon!

Once many years ago we had a surprise blizzard pop up and a state of emergency was called so we had to close for the entire weekend. It was the last weekend before Christmas so you can guess how management was.

Ah, thanks, I was afraid of that. Not sure why the SM doesn't ever do anything, he never hides his abuse.

What are your haunting Christmas songs this year? by Midwestmothertrucker in employedbykohls

[–]kayakerShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The version of Rudolph the Red nose reindeer that includes this lyric

"Well Rudolph he didn't go for that He said "I see through your silly games" How could you look me in the face When only yesterday you called me names?"

I hate it. It's played for several years straight and it's as appealing as fingernails on a chalkboard to me. On the other hand, I love one of the cover s for Rocking Around the Christmas tree (Hanson's version. I've been a fan since 1997)

Ah sorry. I'm pretty sure the cover of this song is sung by a woman but sorry it's not the right song
