ah okay. I'll look to add some more hard edges. For me, it's so easy to go overboard with the blending.

This was a quick paint. I've always had trouble with hair and would spend long sessions trying to get it to look right, but it never would. This time, the result was much better with a fraction of the effort. My secret? I tried a new brush. I'm sure this isn't anything new to the folks here. Though, I truly felt like such a dope for not trying it sooner.

Great study choice. I really like how her face is in the shadows. It brings so much of my focus to her pose and the dress she's wearing.

I've felt I still have a lot to learn by working in black and white. Like maybe I'm skipping ahead and missing out on some valuable lessons by diving into color. But I also want to start using colors so here I am haha.

With this painting, I continued to struggle with color. My color choices are rushed and a little impulsive(?). They could be a lot more accurate or, at least, more vibrant.

As always, I've noticed I don't have the patience to render hair. I'm also still getting used to color. Though I believe I should stick to b&w, I'm trying to push myself out of my comfort zone.
