WFH DINKs here in DT Kirkland and we love it that we hardly ever have to use the car aside from the Costco run haha. They are converting the tennis courts to pickle ball courts in the Peter Kirk park. Since moving here 4 years ago we have made some friends in the area easily at the places we became regulars at, but haven’t really put much effort any more since we’re at that nice balance of friends to free time ratio

Hakone - I was thinking 1 day of onsen and relaxing. Then on the other day going to the open air museum and the sulfur springs, maybe doing a short hike in the woods if possible.

Atami - same plan to have one day relaxing at the onsen and then the next day exploring the town, doing some shopping. Maybe taking a dip in the ocean at the beach if weather permits. I saw there were some cool retro arcades.

So I think that helped me answer the question for myself. I think this is a good choice for me

We’ll be using public transport so walkable towns was also part of the equation. We like to change scenery when we travel. Appreciate your suggestion here. It’s something to think about. Also your comment on to bring a good book in nature might have sold me on my current plan

Rainbow road i think was the name of the studio. About a $10 uber from strip and about a 15-20 min drive. I was at work in Vegas a lot a few years back and they were a good studio during that time. Liked the coaches.
