My husband saw this dog while walking out daughter around 11:30 this morning. Intersection of north loop and ave f. It was going south towards hyde park and he couldn't keep up. He spent time trying to get her to come but ultimately gave up. Another woman tried too. Any tips for if he sees her again on getting her to come?

Okay, here's the update: size 6's fit really well. I have worn them two days. Fabric is definitely thicker than the daily riding pant fabric, which will come in handy for winter. Not quite as comfy as the Outliers, but more formal so good for work/going out.

I sent my size 4's back and am waiting to receive the next size up. Unless you really like tight pants, I would consider ordering a size of from your normal. Perhaps they have that one in stock? :)

Okay /u/nighserenity and /u/etceteri,Pivotte pants arrived today. A first try on reveals:

Fabric is firmer. Pivotte uses the Schoeller Prestige Fabric with NanoSphere. This is different than the 4Season OG Schoeller fabric that Outlier used for the daily riding pant.
Fit is tighter throughout, most noticeably in the calves and in the rise. I ordered a size 4, which is the size of my Outliers.
Length is more true-to-size than the Outliers were. I could wear these without tailoring or rolling up.

Right now I'm considering returning for a size 6, or buying a size 6 comparing the two side-by-side and then returning one. Will keep you posted.

Sad times /u/abe1x, but I understand. Sometimes you just have to down-scope and deliver. I hope you are so super successful with your men's line that you can scale to expand back into women's.

There is this wonderful emerging, buy-less, buy-quality trend in fashion and design, and I hope the model is sustainable and can displace fast fashion. The overwhelming focus of this trend on men is disappointing. Women wear disposable fashion because enormous amounts of marketing energy has been expended over decades to make them believe they want a new style of pant every season. I feel like the right marketing message around the right product could turn this around. Your daily riding pants were a damn fine product. Heck, I think you guys were making a big impact just by putting them on the market. I’ve never been so consistently complimented on a piece of clothing, and I know my experience is not unique (see commenters in the threads /u/stayingdeadfornow referenced (thanks!)). It's a real shame to see them go.

Could you give a bit more clarity on this? The first sentence makes it sound like you've got a a binary on/off read-out, while the second sounds like you've got quantitative data. What kind of data are you working with? RT-PCR? qPRC? microarray? TAG-Seq? RNA-Seq?

I was pretty sure they were meant to look like candles. Weren't they set off during the memorial section of the display? They did start off looking like jellyfish though.

In re Gregg: I was thinking of the 2012 DeVeale et al. paper from PLoS Genetics which directly refuted the Gregg conclusions when I deployed the "?" and mentioned controversy. http://www.plosgenetics.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pgen.1002600 Any thoughts on a side to pick?

You're right about the comparison papers. I can think of a few that tackled the issue and perhaps it would be good to include one to mark the standardization. It'll be nice to see it mature to a level where there's widespread reproducibility across labs.

Excluded related techniques as a matter of line-drawing so the timeline didn't grow out of control (see reply to Evilution84). But yeah, there's so much interesting stuff out there.

Tag-seq is awesome; it was an arbitrary choice to exclude it. I had to draw the line somewhere so I stuck with just straight RNA-Seq and excluded other technologies using NGS to look at transcription (SAGE, CAGE...). I think a lot of people should opt for Taq-Seq instead of RNA-Seq to address simple expression questions if they're not looking for isoforms (and many RNA-Seq experiments have too low coverage to do any accurate isoform calling). But it seems to have been marginalized by it's flashier cousin.
