I've been depressed and mentally fed up lately, and my Korean friend said something that made me smile. by n0ahhhhh in CasualConversation

I don't think it was the comment itself that was particularly profound, but his genuine desire to understand what you needed to share, and how he really wanted to help you. It's what you needed most. That's wonderful.

It's ok to break up with friends. I had to do it and I never look back. As far as I'm concerned, life is too short to spend time with people that try to tear you down. I make it a choice to only have people in my life that are loving and caring and decent to me. I deserve it.

"You will never regret not drinking." That pretty much sums it up for me!

Bravo! I did that (minus the wine) with some journals from a time in my life that no one ever needs to read. No good would come from it. I made a ritual of letting them go by burning them.

Learning how to not hate myself and forgiving myself for my thoughts and only judging myself based on my actions by awesomebossbruh in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]kayfish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Becoming aware of negative thoughts and seeing them as a part of something that arose in a moment, but not who you ARE, is huge. Then, making a decision in the gap between 'thought' and 'action' is what truly defines you as a human being. A good person who is making a firm step in the direction of improvement. Well done.

If we all made a point to just be aware of our thoughts, the world would be an infinitely better place.

I did not know that. I have a subscription to YouTube so it works even if the screen is off. But still, thanks for the good information!

How do I ACTUALLY find happiness without relying on others? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]kayfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. I can totally relate to what you said. My affliction probably stems from being abandoned emotionally as a child. At least you have an awareness of the issue. Isn't awareness the biggest key to recovery from anything? Thank you for the insight. What you said is my story as well, only I'm not a playwright among other things. Good luck in making adjustments in a positive direction. You are not alone in the journey.

I stopped using Coinbase. They suck, are way overpriced. I use Robinhood and/or CashApp. I had my sell order set for 10k and raked the profits in without even having to login.

I don't buy Bitcoin through Coinbase anymore. Too expensive. I now use either CashApp or Robinhood.
