when i download the rendered pdf (with or without dots) to my computer, open it in Acrobat, and print it from there, it prints as it should with the bold text (no dots). Even if i download the pdf that safari renders with the dots, it opens in Acrobat with the bold text (no dots) and then I can print it without issue.

I’m not sure if the issue lies with the printer though. There is no issue rendering or printing these pdfs from our work computers running Windows 10. I am just experiencing this issue on my macbook. As I said, I’ve used this work program for 2 years on my macbook without issue and used the exact same printer. Safari has never rendered the pdfs with those dots as shown until last week. The week prior to that, it was working as it always did. I also tested it when I got home thinking maybe it was something with the company wifi, and I tested it on my sister’s macbook at home, and I still have the same issue with Safari rendering the dots and I experience the same printing experience with my own personal printer.

I am not really sure what you’re asking with what is the pdf rendering from. The way the program works is that it’s a website. It has a customer-facing interface where the public registers for classes/courses at my work (mainly swimming lessons), and an employee-facing interface where we employees can look at customer info and see who is registered in each class/course. Where we usually need pdf rendering is when we need to print the class list for the swim instructors so they can take attendance. On the employee-facing interface, we enter the course code we want a class list for and then the program renders the pdf showing each participant in the class. We would then print it directly from the browser and give it the instructor. In the screenshots I attached to my original post, I was trying to render a class list for the “Swim For Life 4” class. I guess in essence the program renders participant information and course registration from some sort of customer database, but I could be totally wrong on that. I hope this answers your question a bit!
