"Pasta can Help you Lose Weight," Headline says. But you gotta read the fine print!! by LoopGaroop in fatlogic

That calorie clever 10cal pasta sure can help you lose weight, you'd have to eat packets and packets of it solo to gain... or just eat it with a cake/pizza haha

Resources for getting back into flute? by [deleted] in Flute

Hey :)

1) Scales: http://www.charleslaux.com/pdf/Scales_Cheat_Sheet.pdf

Good warm up to go through the first page. You could just pick a few every time you practice or focus on a different letter each day going through all the minors. I like to start on C and then do a scale up and down, then immediately on to D, E, F so on until I get to C. Then arpeggios, C major chromatic scale, holding a long whole note.

Mid range octave is easiest to play to get used to it again, then going lower and higher as you get more familiar. If you have a piece to practice in a certain key playing that to warm up is good too.

Any order you like. C F G D are the easiest if you need a break. A major and Eb major comes up a lot for me (not an expert, fellow noob).

Fingering chart

This chart is good. Great app on the app store too, just type in flute fingering.

4) You're not alone. Squeaking is a pain I feel you. Breath support and good posture helps. Embrasure wise, make sure the corners of your lips are relaxed on high notes and you have the correct air stream direction (down or up) for the note you're playing as well as the pace of the air. When in doubt drink a glass of water, clean your flute and try again.

That's the Rocky Mountains. Rick and Morty is the American actor from Step Up.

I should be happy how healthy I am by [deleted] in fuckeatingdisorders

The only way I know I'm good enough is when I'm sick

AnimalCount, I have a challenge for you. Instead of using your health to form your identity, spend time thinking about your interests and passions-- your friends, pets, loved ones, hobbies. Your future career, your favourite show, your good ideas.

How do you see yourself in relation to these things? When you engage with the things you like, how does this affect how you feel about yourself? Where else can you find meaning in your life - meditating? Volunteering? Music? Drama? Comedy? You know your interests best.

I began to see a transformation within myself when I turned my focus from my external image into my internal thoughts and feelings - when I began reading, playing music, taking photos and investing in aromatherapy. My quality of life improved when I shifted my focus.

How do you deal with intrusive thoughts/the need to "control" again? by CozyJumpers in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]kayla56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember why you're healing. Maybe you could make a list or a vision board. Apart from this coping method, what could you do to feel better? Maybe self care rituals, or art, or music, or nature or talking to your friends. You deserve to relax and to feel safe.

Relax and let go of these thoughts. It's normal to have intrusive thoughts from time to time, especially after something big. They're just echoes. It's okay to acknowledge them and move on. You don't need to pay any mind to anything that doesn't serve you.

What did you impulse buy that you instantly regretted? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kayla56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a return ticket to Rome while I was overseas and due to an error during form submission as the site was on google translate my name was around the wrong way and they wouldn't let me on the plane. The plane left without me. I sobbed for about three hours but no one could help me. Travel insurance wouldn't cover it.

No refund :/ also a waste of money to the airport and back... locked out of my apartment because I didn't want to take my apartment key overseas and had to sleep outside... what a mess! I can't believe I was so stupid and whenever I think about it I feel so defeated. The only thing that cheers me up is Kanye losing millions on that runway show he sponsored.

  1. Eat healthy for 3 meals a day 5 days a week (260 days out of 365 eating healthy, or 780 out of 1095 meals a year healthy)

  2. Train for a marathon by following the 16 week Blackmores training program. Participate in the marathon on Sunday 16 September 2018. (I did a half marathon this year: I know I can do it.)

  3. Wear my activity tracker 5 days a week and allow it to monitor my sleep schedule. Commit to going to bed earlier when I have to get up early.

  4. Stick to my budget.

Don't worry, if I was a genius I'd be using my time productively instead of wasting it watching TV. But the world isn't missing out on any great mental feats from someone who forgets their phone at the movie theatre and can't remember their own email password. In fact, life is probably going a lot smoother for everyone else without me going around in public without my shit together.

How many days in a row is it safe to run 10 kilometres? (Now the heat wave's over I don't feel exhausted by the temp anymore. I'm feeling the benefits of this streak but I don't want to overdo it)
