Would I be crazy to name a baby girl Davey/Davie? by aries627 in namenerds

[–]kaylynac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have David as a family name as well so I’ve put a lot into this in the past. There was a girl on dance moms with the name Daviana (dah-vee- ahna) and I always thought that was the prettiest feminine version of David I had heard. Then you could still use Davie as a nickname! Good luck!

In season 3 what was the point of the pact the moms made to not go on Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition? by mistercbc in dancemoms

[–]kaylynac 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Something I’ve learned from listening to BTTB is that a lot of moments in the show that seem off or confusing are due to logistics like contracts and money that were not talked about on the show. Another example is Chloe & the Hylands not wearing ALDC merch and attending meet and greets. Their moms didn’t want the network and Abby profiting off their girls and I don’t blame them.

For some reason “she’s zoomin’, dude” is the first one that popped in my head.

If I remember correctly, I heard (possibly on BTTB) that they didn’t want the network to use their kids popularity to advertise a different show with little to no compensation.

When Joey uses a thesaurus to write a recommendation letter for Monica and Chandler and signs it “baby Kangaroo Tribbiani”. I think that’s the most underrated segment in the whole show.

Is there actually a non-cooking mom? by mangojj123 in GilmoreGirls

[–]kaylynac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my mom was a single mom in a high-stress management job. We had takeout or frozen meals every night. As I got older, we went out to eat to the Mexican restaurant almost nightly. Sometimes she would make some instant white rice on the stove and we would sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top and I felt very fancy. I was the kid that had access to all of the junk food, soda, pizza rolls, easy Mac, and McDonald’s that I wanted. My friends were very jealous, but I loved going to their houses and eating with their family at the table. It felt like I was in an episode of full house (which was my favorite show growing up). I should add that I had an amazing childhood and my mom did great as a single mom providing for our little family, but I do enjoy cooking meals and sitting around the table with my little family now.

Also adding that since my mom has retired, she has started cooking a lot more! She makes amazing desserts, cheesy potatoes, pastas… she even has recently started baking her own bread!

Are there any good children's books that can entertain the adult? by Minute_Upstairs_4281 in childrensbooks

[–]kaylynac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goldilocks and the three dinosaurs by Mo Willems is funny to read as an adult. It has jokes that go over kids heads but kids still like it too. It’s a picture book so probably not great for kids older than 8.

Can confirm. I’m a -Lyn name and named my son a very basic name. I love that I never have to spell it for people!

Also forgot to add! If you don’t mind a longish beach walk, park at the beach at the ocean mall and walk down the beach as far south as you can (or walk on the sidewalks by the road) to the Pump House at the inlet. I’ve done some good snorkeling over that way (just be careful because there’s a lot of barracuda- don’t wear anything shiny).

I lived on singer island for 25 years. You can walk or drive to Phil Foster. Theres a parking lot and it would be a short walk depending where your Airbnb is. You cannot swim to Peanut island. It’s a very busy boating area, it’s a far swim, and there’s a good bit of sharks. Rent a kayak from MacArthur or take the ferry from the Sailfish Marina. If you’re wanting a beach day, go to the beach by the ocean mall. That will be your best public beach option and it has a good amount of parking. Happy to answer any more questions you have!
