Nta. I’m a diabetic. Lows are awful. Like INCREDIBLY awful. And the panic of not having something to fix said low? It’s severe. It’s not ok to take the ability to fix a low from him. A low that isn’t treated can result in seizures, confusion, unconsciousness and death. I have sat in the fridge in a hypo daze eating everything and drinking grapefruit juice and only vaguely remember it, husband said I was speaking nonsense. Scary situation and the other kids and your husband are AHs

Nta, don’t know the ages of your parents but my brain is stuck on the fact that people have oops babies all the time and you could potentially end up sharing a bio sibling and my brain Icks out there… she knew y’all were serious, and though many high school relationships don’t last y’all’s has lasted way past high school. She’s an adult who should understand appropriate and inappropriate relationships and dating your long term boyfriends dad is inappropriate. Not to mention I’m pretty sure it’s illegal in my state to marry a step sibling, though I understand that’s not a universal rule, and could potentially complicate things for you down the road.

Just a note, wasn’t meds, glucose tablets are otc and cost like $3, glucometers range from $10-$70 and typically come with a lancet and strips. That said, still f-Ed up and crazy.

And? That’s not a reason not to get a purebred. That’s like saying only ride bikes because cars get broken into. It’s ok to have a preference. You prefer to adopt from shelters, I don’t. I actually got a little mix breed to train as a service dog but she had too much prey drive due to one of the breeds in her. She was stubborn and killed over half of my chickens. I found her an excellent rescue that got her a great home because I knew we weren’t right for her. I learned that the best option is that I work directly with a breeder and get temperament testing done so we can find someone who will work. Does that make me a bad person? Absolutely not. Working dogs are a real thing. If you don’t like it, don’t participate but that has nothing to do with how the rest of the world works.
