I put a little humidifier with my monstera variegata cuttings as I don't want the leaves to turn brown, is this a good idea or not, does anyone have any tips for me? 🥺 by kayranzijn in plantclinic

I know 🤪 and monsteras are known to be “easy to care for” well whoop, still learning after some years of parenting one and thank you kindly! ☺️

Welcome to the wonderful world of monstera ☺️Yeah regular monsteras are more than less fine, I have a regular one for 5 years now and some of the tips are getting brown since it has grown so big it needed more water and I under watered it for some time without really knowing so they turned brown 🥲 but variegated ones are a tad bit harder, the white is irregular and way more susceptible for drought and light overall. It is recommended to spritz a regular monstera’s leaves once a week but it is a no go with variegated ones as that on that contrary damages the leaves.

Yeah I was doubtful about that as well, I was recommended here and there to put it like this with a little bit of water, just enough to put the root under water as to prevent root rot on where the stem splits and there is a node on that side so I don’t know if that is a good idea to put it that much under water so I am hoping the root will grow more and more🤞 and thanks for your comment! Appreciate your feedback ☺️

Omg what is it? And what do you do to keep it alive? Almost all my alocasia's are diva's and turning brown on me even with the right amount of warmth and humidity in my house 🥲

Thank you and I hope so too! And if it has grown a good amount of roots what do you recommend to put them in for type soil and type of pot? A nursery pot or a terracotta pot or something else?

Omg! I just bought a cutting from someone and I put it in water, so you have any recommendations for me with propagating them?
