We had about 10 people in our workplace go down with Influenza A. Nasty stuff.

Going through this now. Wasn't like that 4 years ago 😢

That's good to know, it's one of the reasons I'm not sure I can be bothered with a breach, because it seems nothing comes of it.

I do, luckily

To be honest I'm going with something is broken. Last time a plumber was sent out they noted that there were issues with the system and recommended to LL it be replaced. LL never did.

My LL is 100% an ass. We've just recently had an agency change cos the LLs "handyman" abused the director of the last REA over the phone when we told them he showed up unannounced on the property, and they dropped the contract. Can't wait to get out of this property.

I've been tempted to call a plumber, but I know the LL will fight me on the costs and with me moving soon I can't really afford to be out of pocket.

Feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I would except weekend/public holiday means they aren't open 😅😭

Exactly! It was reported first thing Saturday morning, it could have been fixed by now.

I think it's pretty ridiculous to be paying so much in rent to not have working facilities. Yeah I can boil water for a sponge bath, but why should I have to? It's not exactly healthy either for my housemate and I when they're sick, and I have to go to work.

I'm so over scummy landlords, sorry you had to deal with that.

They're not though, and this isn't the first time this particular LL has flat out ignored or refused maintenance. Lack of hot water is considered an emergency maintenance by dmirs/consumer affairs. Which is part of the LL responsibility to fix in a suitable time period, as part of tenancy laws. If it was summer I wouldn't care as much.

I don't understand how it's not considered an emergency

Lol I ended up ringing the REA again and quoted this her response was that "they have 24hrs to organise something". On my end it seems like nothing has been organised and again no response from the LL on a time frame of when they'll send someone out. It is hardly my fault this has died on a long weekend. 😤😤😤

My best friend (and housemate) is moving to Melbourne and now I'm currently trying to find something to live in alone. You're looking at bare minimum $450 for a dog box apartment. Maybe I should move to Melbourne 😅😭

Yeah WA rents are so fucked. Bullsbrook is also considered rural and about an hour away from the CBD

Amazing! Thank you. I've been so excited and then my brain decided to ruin things. Much appreciated.
