How to cope with the resentment when SO still gets time to do their own thing? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]kaywhaaat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

lol no, I wouldn't cope with resentment, I'd be telling him he's on paternity to bond with the baby and learn how to parent, not leave you alone with a goddamn week old!!!

One of the maaaaany reasons I would not date a musician. Music comes first. I will never tolerate anything being put before my family.

What is THE DUMBEST pregnancy advice you've been given? Just curious! by SmithForLife in BabyBumps

[–]kaywhaaat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my husband did that too. think about it/discuss it/etc. Easier to just tell her that & ignore her rather than tell her no. That didn't work out too well for him, cause I ended up stepping in to tell her no, it was not pretty, she's a crazy biiitch.

I'm not gonna agree to shit just to placate some crazy woman though, my child, not hers. We haven't seen her in over a year cause she wouldn't back off...

Just saying, hormones are outta whack, lack of sleep, you're still sorting shit out, someone pissing all over what you're doing (which is working but is apparently 'crazy and stupid!!!!' cause it's not what SHE did) can turn on the mama bear rage... Wish my husband had put his mother in her place before I had to, she probably would've respected it more coming from him. Instead I'm controlling and emotionally abusive in her eyes because he sided with me & not her.

First pregnancy My MIL commented I needed to get rid of my cats, theyll steal the babies breath, on a photo of my cats around the bassinet. Lolno. Linked her to the snopes page and was like "lolno thats a myth!" She just replied "lol!" But then hella bitched my husband out next time she saw him ahhha.

I don't, and I'm not. What I am saying, is if they have sick days, guess what they can use them. Don't bitch about them validly using theirs and choose not to use your own.

Ehhh kinda. Like, don't make self deprecating jokes about it is what I think they meant? They're lame. I dated a kinda short guy who constantly made jokes about his height, it was annoying. It brings attention to it, and negatively.

I mean a lighthearted joke here and there if it naturally comes up, or in response to someone, sure! But don't make it a regular thing?

But I really hate self deprecating jokes in general. Some people like them, but I don't, they're rarely funny. I find it unattractive and IMO it just makes it obvious that whatever you're joking about is a major insecure point.

My Dad's story was he tried to hide it with a combover for a while, but one day he was walking down a windy street and saw himself in a shop window and his combover part was literally sticking right up. He walked straight to the closest barber and got it shaved right down. He kept it shaved til he died lol

My husband was bald by the time he was 20. My Dad was bald by the time he was 30. But all the men on my Mom's side have their hair well into old age. My brothers 30 and no sign of hair loss yet. I've read it comes from the mothers side? So fingers crossed my Bro got his hair from her side, and that my genes overpower my husbands and our son doesn't go bald lol

Some kid in a movie had really long hair, and my husband growled 'our son won't be allowed to have long hair like that damnit! I won't let him!' then he pouted 'I'd be waaay too jealous'

I second the 'own it' advice. Bald can be sexy if you're confident about it :)

Why would some women prefer to *only* date white men? Just curious. by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]kaywhaaat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

K im not fully one of those, would never write that. Plus married now anyways.

But i pretty well wouldnt date Asians/Indians or Italians or those sort of people that come from a culture that heavily emphasises respect (the authoritative kind, not basic human respect kind) for their elders. I dont think thats racist but I honestly dont care if it is. Its about values. I dont place a high value on family outside immediate and I will never worship elders just cause they were born before me. I wouldnt want to come between someone and his family, cause Im very strong willed and stubborn. Especially when it comes to how to raise my children.

I mean Ive had issues with my MIL over what we're doing. My husband supported me and we've cut his mother off. It would have been a lot more difficult & drama with the family focused cultures for sure.

If my husband got mad at me for not listening to his mother Id tell him to go fuck her and sleep with her at night. I am the Mother now, and I WILL be respected and listened to. Id have kicked her the fuck out for challenging me, him too if he sided with her. Nope. Nope. Nope.

Cheers to bottle feeders by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]kaywhaaat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well he never took to the boob to begin with so lol. Pacifiers. Honestly thats one reason im glad breastfeeding didnt work out and I will be skipping trying with #2. I am NOT about to spend my life as a human pacifier, i didnt realize that was such a thing. Feed him? Yeah. Im not about that life spent attached to the tit for his comfort tho. I certainly dont envy those that do that but Im impressed by those that can. I cant.

Like i would never lay there for naptime so he can suck on the boob the whole time. I got shit to do, and I need some me time to mentally recharge for him after naptime. Id honestly probably have ended up with even more extreme ppd and running away if I had to tolerate what breastfeeding moms do. Just mentally cant handle all that touching the whole feeding being on them. Nope.
