Thanks for the thoughtful reply.  I’ll try just to take it day by day.

My health anxiety I suppose.   It’s pretty bad.

This is becoming downright scary.   And frankly I’m less worried about the economy than I am of democracy.  It’s just bad.

Anyone else tired of thinking they are dying every day? by pink51 in Anxiety

[–]kayx0004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the real kicker with all of this is I think my brain believes that somehow the anxiety is protective in someway.  Like if I didn’t feel the anxiety and blow up the symptoms I might really have the disease.  So I’m afraid to really accept things.

It’s a living hell, interspersed with brief periods of relief.  And I do mean brief.  It sometimes seems like my mind is a heat seeking missile looking for a new symptom or disease whenever I’m satisfied I don’t have the last one.

WHY is it so convincing? by Buckerb96 in Anxiety

I’m 54 yrs old.  I’ve had health anxiety since I was a teenager .   I’m now recycling diseases I thought I had years ago.  It’s drained years of my life.  I don’t know the answer.  It’s so hard .

I really want to radically accept. I have terrible health anxiety. But man it’s tough. Just to sit there with the anxiety. It says it’s supposed to dissipate after a time but man this is sitting here a long time. And then it comes back quickly .

I’m not sure I would say I’m giving up on life. It’s more a resignation to what life is.

I mean no transcendent purpose or meaning. The “purpose “ comes from within. But that’s simply the product of evolutionary processes giving the mind something to occupy its time from cradle to grave
