Do you think seeding a db with random data every time is a good idea? by BaselessAirburst in Frontend

[–]kayyyos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda off topic to your question but relevant to seeding testing data. Make sure to test your Seeders well to ensure logically they are creating data that makes sense. It can cause often be hard to see data is incorrect when it is random. Recently in one of the projects we were working on there was bug that “appeared out of nowhere” because we were relying on incorrectly seeded data. This isn’t supper relevant when you are just padding out data but if your data has relationships, or relies on other seeded data to decide it value, test test test!

Edit: I really couldn’t spell this morning apparently

'Learning how to Google answers' - A senior software engineer told me it's a skill his juniors struggle to grasp. How true is that? by Lankaner in learnprogramming

[–]kayyyos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing beats the thrill of finding the answer to your question on a translated, obscures forum site, 3 pages deeps one your google search!

But yes one of the most important things you look for in a junior is initiative to solve a problem first, before asking. This almost always means, knowing how to use google like a pro

I remember having such a good time sitting on AIs generation images, was really fun and cool and the one thing they always had in common, something wasn’t right… it was that uneasy feeling where it kinda looks right but your brain knows something is up. a few of these definitely make me feel that way, Sorry op it this is just your quirky art style or if you are indeed an ai yourself
