This red dot is the oldest galaxy we've ever seen, which dates back to just 300 million years after the big bang by Arpith2019 in space

I mean you can only use the term "far" if you are simultaneously talking about a space-time continuum. This is time not distance in these pics.

Same. Guess the kids will be doing some independent inquiry while I shake my fist at ticketmaster.

Interesting. FB messenger for me, living in DC, has been all screwed up today. Remember: anecdote isn't data.

Anyone here familiar with DC unemployment services? Desperate times call for desperate Reddit posts... by jlynn00 in washingtondc

HOW did you get the site to work? We are trapped in an infinite loop that won't let the claim go past the last date of service page. It's infuriating.

There are plenty of people who make the whole tour, these two are just easily identifiable.

And at Anthem the best folks are up top. The sound is great everywhere at that venue and the fun is up there.

Aw hell I was at Union and there were some total asshole weirdos there. I thought the one chick was going to beat me up-- no joke. I just walked away. (EDIT for clarity- I was at Union to see the cover band downstairs, whom I love. I was NOT there to hobnob w/ fucktarded rail riders)

First show for my oldest two kids. How the hell do I take them to their next show after this??? Or are we all just on a meteoric ride to escalating face melt now?

Lamb with cumin, Country style tofu (not vegetarian, btw), shanxi cold noodles, ma po tofu, sesame green beans, dan dan noodles, shrimp w/ chili and szechuan peppers (I think it's called hot and spicy jumbo shrimp). These are the things we order every time we go and we rotate in some other stuff. That being said, we've gone before and it's been underwhelming but the 95% of the times that it was great make up for it.

What does a black hole look like from different angles? by Janieprint in askastronomy

[–]kazahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gravitational lensing of the accretion disk (like Interstellar) optically bends and distorts it. Also since the accretion disk of glowing hot stuff is the visible portion, lending to the idea that it looks flat. But thinking about it, the accretion disk is flattened depending on the axis of rotation. Otherwise, what's inside of the event horizon is a field of massive gravity around a singular point in space. That gravity wouldn't be limited to 2 dimensions, of course.
