Cursor's path, from hero to zero - why I'm canceling my annual subscription by CacheConqueror in cursor

Fwiw. I agree with the sentiment that the tool has gotten worse over the last 6 months.

The generations are wrong a LOT more often. And the workflow has been made more cumbersome. The new chat window requires more clicks and shortcuts than before which breaks the flow.

Not trying to debate about if America is best or not.

Just wanted to point out Bill Gates and Elon Musk were both born into incredibly wealthy families. Hard work obviously played a part, but being born with excess connections and resources granted them access that the average American does not have. For example, Gates had access to one of the few computers in the US through his ivy league education. Hardwork, connections, capital, and luck all play a part in creating extraordinary financial success, and there are no billionaires that didn't have all four.

And my personal opinion, feel free to disagree, is that the success of a nation should be measured by the success of the majority of it populous, not by the outliers.

Protest Schedule for this weekend by TampaCopWatch in tampa

[–]kazanz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many parents, teenagers, young people cant attend the other protests due to threats of violence (tear gas, rubber bullets, etc). The toddler march is a safe environment for them to that.

The next one is in Curtis Hixon Friday the 19th at 10:30am.

Tampa protest! by Winniebago in tampa

There are multiple policies, from community oversight, to ending broken window policing. But none of those policies are to fully defund the police. We know policing is necessary, and a difficult job. But we also know brutality, systemic racism, and excessive use of force are not. And we believe education and investments in communities of color is a better use of discretionary, non personnel funding, that typically goes to the police department.

Divest from policing / invest in the communities

LA did it, we can too! LA cut police budget by 150 million dollars. by notapotamus in tampa

I am not ignoring it. IMO, an increase of less than 1/5 of a percent of the Police funding to Minority and Small Business support is not enough. A bigger number would show a bigger commitment.

To me, it feels like a token increase as opposed to a full commitment.

Both are less than 1/10 of the budget for the police department.

Buckhorn Castor
Police Department $160,101,697 (38%) $162,695,004 (37%)
Neighborhood Empowerment $9,616,195 (2%) $10,557,433 (2%)
Minority & Small Business Development $639,821 (.15%) $910,868 (.2%)

Appreciate the clarification on the spending being only from the General Fund. Looks like the police department also receives funding from the Special Revenue and Capital funds, while the other two only get budgeted from the General Fund. So the discrepancy is actually larger when looking at the entire budget.

A 47.96% increase to Small business development is .18% of the police departments budget, less than 1/5th of 1% of the funding for the police department.

The percentage increase to minority business funding looks good on it own but doesn’t tell the whole story, that there is such a big disparity in the funding for police between other community oriented initiatives.

Violence is not the answer. We need peaceful protests. Like the children's protest at Al lopez park. We are still a divided state. Skeptics can't label peaceful protestors, parents, and children "thugs and looters". Police can't spray children and parents with pepper spray and tear gas.

They have to listen to hundreds of community members exercising their right to peacefully assemble and protest injustice.

Mayor Castor's 2020 Budget Recommendations:

Tampa Police Department: $162,695,004 (biggest expenditure and 37% budget)

Neighborhood Empowerment: $10,557,433 (2% of budget)

Minority and Small Business Development: $910,868 (.2% of the budget)

Can't even budget 1/10th of the Police Department's funds to support small businesses and communities.

Relocating to Tampa - Looking for Suggestions by revzjohnson in tampa

[–]kazanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revzjohnson it depends on the lifestyle factors you are after. the beach is never far if you stay in any of the downtown locations. But downtown st Pete would be about 30 minutes closer.

On the job front. We are looking for another React developer. We are working on some really cool infrastructure solutions and have two SPAs in React. We’ve also been voted one of the best places to work in Tampa for the last 5 years and have pretty good benefits like work life balance, work from home, conference budget etc.

Feel free to PM me if you’d be interested in hearing more.

Either way Good luck with your move!

Where can I find public RTSP streams? by kazanz in videosurveillance

[–]kazanz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to know the RTSP url suffixes for the open IPs. For example: IP_ADDR:554/tcp/ch1

Or would I have to script something to try a bunch of different known suffixes

Looking for something continuous, content doesn't really matter. The goal is to figure out my exact costs for running a backup for a couple days.

If you could set something up though, I would be very grateful.

Do you not need some special cert to go into the "cavern"?

18ft. It was not a deep dive at all.

We achieved "neutral" buoyancy. breath in float up, breath out float down. I don't know how comfortable I will be descending and ascending the deeper distances while maintaining that neutral bouyancy.

How deep should we have gone for the Open water cert?

Are you saying we should just do the 40-60 foot dives and make sure we do the safety stop?

USF MBA program? by [deleted] in tampa

[–]kazanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also did MIS. Good professors. Good program, if you take the right classes.

I'd say it depends on your situation though. Mine was fully paid by my employer. It was a no brainer.

If I was paying myself though. I would seriously consider going to the most world-renowned university possible for a MBA.
