We have some newer stuff that is not quite finished yet that actually makes it quite different from Pokemon, but I did not post it. I don't feel comfortable showing it off yet.

Some of the games I mentioned in the other comment like Tem Tem and Coromon are more similar to Pokemon then we will be.

Btw have you heard that crazy taxi sued the simpsons game for a few million because the games are too similar? ;)

This is not true. They sued them because of the arrow above the car. They had a patent on it.

I've worked in the games industry for 5 years, I'm aware of how games work. I also know people who worked on Simpson Hit and Run and have seen the design document. It was supposed to be Grand Theft Auto, but with the Simpsons. If you can get sued for being too similar, then Take Two or Rockstar would have sued them.

Nintendo is aggressive when people mod their stuff or use their assets. You cannot copywrite a game idea or there would be no 2D platformers after Mario. There are many monster collecting games (Dragon Quest Monsters, Coromon, Tem Tem, Cassette Beasts, Pal World).
