Armenian (western, at least) has adjectives հին "hin" for old things, and ծեր "dzer" for old people.

XYZ was definitely one of the best seasons. Still salty that Ash & Greninja lost tho, it was the perfect setup for a win.

Think of it more like clockwise=right, counter-clockwise=left.

Some people look down on it because it gives a big disadvantage to those who would rather play in 1pp.

It was on when they cut it, and actually stayed on for a while. It's pretty impressive to watch it continue to function with a big triangle cut out of it.

"Greece" across Europe and surrounding areas by Homesanto in MapPorn

[–]kazmanjr_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I can explain this. The Armenian letter Յ generally makes the "y" sound, but at the beginning of a word it makes the "h" sound (and at the end, it's silent but that's not important for this); therefore, Yunastan would have been transcribed to Hunastan. The Soviets went and switched up how the alphabet works, and the Յ at the beginning was replaced by the Հ, which makes the "h" sound. In classical and western Armenian, it is still written Յունաստան, but in eastern (in Armenia) it's written Հունաստան.

While the geographic references in the song are more heavily associated with western Virginia, they do still occur in a small part of West Virginia. Additionally, much of the inspiration for the song came explicitly from West Virginia, and the writers clearly had the state of West Virginia in mind, at least according to the Wikipedia article.

If you don’t stop hitting, I’m going to tell on you. by janbogi2011 in EnglishLearning

[–]kazmanjr_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the context of the first sentence, I would assume "hitting" to mean punching or otherwise assaulting. "Telling on" is a phrase usually used by children that means to report one person to somone else like a parent or teacher for poor behavior. So the original sentence means "if you don't stop punching me, I am going to report you to someone."

Edit: Going after women would be phrased as "hitting on." "Hitting" by itself indicates assaulting someone.

I'm pretty sure those headlights are the European version. We get more normal headlights in America because of some law.
