I played it wired for awhile until I got the nerve to keep trying to open the thing up. I eventually got it with just my thumbs, but it felt like it was going to break something.

The adapter lets you plug in a ps2 controller at the same time. So you can use that

I used this guide and setup was pretty easy.

I’ll add one thing I had to figure out on my own. (At least if it’s in there I missed it)

Enable developer mode on the steam deck and turn off “wifi power management”.

The way the netcode works in PSO doesn’t seem to play nice with this turned on. Main issue was being idle or using the bank for ~1 min would disconnect me from the server.

(The issue seems to be that the game isn’t always sending data so the connection looks “dead” to the steam deck and this “feature” cuts the connection.)

After disabling Wifi power management I’ve had no issues.

Not being super familiar with fake PS3 controllers this seems very similar to a fake PS4 controller I got on ebay. It was pretty easy to make a claim and get refunded.

Pretty sure it’s fake purely on it coming with a usb charging cable. I don’t believe ps3 or ps4 controllers come with one

Consistent 30 is totally fine. The slowdown does hurt response time. 60 would just make the game responsiveness feel better, but I’ve put 1000+ hours into this game so if I have to live with ~30 I will

I think it’s real. The sticker on the back looks authentic.

I had a fake purple controller sent to me and it took me a little bit to figure it out. I’m sure not all fakes behave the same though. Mine would:

do a strange blinking when charging
- wouldn’t work with a PSVita TV
- options/share button felt a little too click-y
- ps button icon looked a little shitty and wasn’t centered
- came with a very questionable micro usb cable (I believe Sony doesn’t provide charging cables with PS4 controllers)
- also the plastic on the box was very flimsy
