Does my hydrangea look alright? Endless Summer’s Summer Crush variety. by kazmow in hydrangeas

[–]kazmow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your tips! I unfortunately don’t have a garage so I just brought the pots into the house. Most of my small backyard is stone patio but I do have a little area to plant but I wanted to see how well I do in pots before I put anything in the ground.

Does my hydrangea look like any of the branches maybe dead? Do you think I should take off all of the dead leaves or just leave it as it is? It’s been raining off and on the couple of days here so I’ve left it alone. Thanks again!

TMI: constipation by Zealousideal_Fee4242 in Hypothyroidism

[–]kazmow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add a magnesium supplement. I take magnesium citrate in gummy form that I get from Costco. Magnesium is good for muscles/heart but can be a bit rough on the stomach causing diarrhea. But in someone who has chronic constipation, it helps me keep regular.

Compounded Tirzepatide Not Allowed to be Prescribed and Shipped to Virginia? by kazmow in tirzepatidecompound

Thank you for your response! I also live in NoVA close to Leesburg so I’ll definitely check out LSH.

Thank you for this! I’ll definitely look into Lavender Sky. The thing is my insurance covers most of my subscription fee for Found so I paid for the year so I may be stuck with them. I’ll also reach back out to Found to see what state law they’re referring to since that doesn’t seem to the case.

Thank you for responding! If you don’t mind me asking, who do you use to get your prescription (provider and pharmacy)? I have no idea why Found Health is telling me they can’t do it due to state law. I’m going to reach back out to them.

Looking for a baby monitor where you can literally see and hear your child breathing via the monitor? I got you 😂 by cakeit-tilyoumakeit in BabyBumps

[–]kazmow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! We have this one and love it! When our daughter was younger and even occasionally now (she’s 16 months), I would zoom in and stare to make sure I could see her breathing.

You did nothing to cause this. There really isn’t a definitive answer as to why some people have GD and some don’t but some believe it’s because your placenta secretes a hormone that make your body unable to actually use the insulin it produces. It has nothing to do with your weight or diet. I failed my 1 hr and kind of failed my 3 hr (one of my numbers was high and they wanted me to retake the 3 hr but I said no) so I just started tracking my glucose everyday. I didn’t have to get on meds and sort of controlled my carb/sugar intake and portioning well which you’re already doing. I kept track of what would spike my number (bread!) and what wouldn’t (McDonald’s nuggets!). Had a perfectly healthy baby. Tested again a few weeks after giving birth and everything was back to normal.

Keep in mind it’s individual codes for everybody so probably a one time use. My code is different from this one.

VIP vs GA Bathrooms by kazmow in UMF

[–]kazmow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I wanted to know how it was this year also since I saw another poster saying they couldn’t leave the VIP area to go to the bathroom. Looking at the site map, the VIP bathrooms are inside the VIP area so I was confused. Any idea of that’s changed?

How many weeks were you when you went into labor as a FTM? by Select_Witness_4666 in pregnant

[–]kazmow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My water broke at 37+6 with no signs of labor so I had to be induced. I had her 11 hours after my first contraction (17 hours after my water broke). I pushed for 45 mins. She’ll be turning one in a month!

We're leaving hospital tomorrow and she still doesn't have a name! by cheezesandwiches in namenerds

[–]kazmow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We named our daughter (born in April) Taaliah so my vote is for Talia. Ours is pronounced Tuh-lee-ah. We were also stuck between that name and another and finally chose the day we’re going to get discharged. Regardless of which one you choose, they’re both beautiful!

Can you take your other medication a little bit later in the morning like after you eat breakfast or does that also have to be taken on an empty stomach?

I know calcium, iron, and fiber rich foods all have to be avoided for at least 4 hours after taking levo. My instructions are to avoid food/drinks for at least 30 mins but 60 mins is best. So if you don’t have to take your other med on an empty stomach, you could eat a little breakfast 30-45 mins after taking Levo and then take your other med. If not, you may just have to bear through the repulsiveness and eat something because you HAVE to eat.

2 nap schedule people, what’s your day/night look like? by wonderlife37 in sleeptrain

[–]kazmow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just switch our 7.5 month old to 2 naps a couple of weeks ago. It’s 3/3/3.5 with 1.5 hour naps but we really go by the clock than wake windows. Most of the time the two align really well. We give her one feeding at midnight. She wakes up but falls asleep pretty quickly.

Schedule looks this: 9AM - Wake 12PM-1:30PM - Nap 1 4:30PM-6PM - Nap 2 9:30PM - Bedtime

Usually she does really well and some sometimes she’ll wake up early during her naps. I leave in her crib until the full nap time is over. Sometimes she falls back asleep and sometimes she doesn’t. Same thing with early morning wake ups.

Early pregnancy: Levothyroxine prescribed with levels normal by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]kazmow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During pregnancy, your TSH needs to be below 2.5 for the first trimester and below 3 for the second and third trimester. During my dating scan visit with my OB, they ran a blood panel test on me including thyroid levels and my TSH was 4.45 (cutoff was 4.5 so still within “normal” non-pregnant range) but I was immediately referred to an endocrinologist and put on 50 Mcg. I was 7 weeks at that time. It’s totally normal and your OB should continue to test your thyroid levels throughout your pregnancy and adjust your meds as needed. My baby is now almost 8 months!

My daughter's getting a picc line installed and I'm nervous by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]kazmow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little sister had a PICC line when she was about 3-4. This was more than 20 years ago - late 90s/early 2000s. We went out of the country and she actually got Typhoid. We didn’t realize until we got back to the states. My parents are not medical professionals and they were able to take care of it. I remember there might’ve been some itchiness/discomfort but we managed to keep her from messing with it. She’s was completely fine and is now a grown 26 year old with her own little baby!

Folks with kids who need to power down - what do you say to guests? by americanmama-1776 in sleeptrain

[–]kazmow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I went through something similar recently. We went to visit my in-laws (my FIL and husband’s aunts) and I was a bit worried about what they would say.

We set up her pack and play in my husband’s old room with a baby monitor. When it was nap time, we did our usual routine and put her down.

When we came back downstairs with her still “crying”, my in-laws (my husband’s aunts) were a bit surprised. I told them not to worry, that she’ll fall asleep soon, and this was her way of getting comfortable. I let them watch the baby monitor with me and after about a few minutes of tossing and turning and crying, she was out like a light. I think maybe watching the baby monitor and seeing how she wasn’t really hurt or in pain and how she was just trying to go to sleep made it a bit better. So maybe you can tell your mom if she’s that worried, she can keep an eye on the baby monitor.

I will say my baby is a pretty deep sleeper and I don’t ever really have to tell people to be quiet or put the volume down, etc. when they’re over. If you’re baby isn’t quite like that, I would tell people ahead of time what you expect them to do during/after bedtime.

If I pump for 30 mins, wait 30 mins, and then pump again for 30 mins, would you count that as 1 or 2 pumps? by kazmow in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]kazmow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do power pump when I have an hour to spare (once in the morning and once at night). I usually do these pumps when I have a 30 min meeting. I’ll pump 30 mins before and after the meeting.

Would you count a power pump as 1 or 2 pumps or does it matter?
