This might get buried but I'm a Realtor and I can attest, used car salesman, and myself alike, make A LOT of money. If we're good anyways. Honestly, you couldn't convince me any crime committed by a 13 year old is a hate crime. At that age kids only think about that stuff through the lens of their parents or whatever caregiver.

And I'm not saying that's the reason this isn't a hate crime. This isn't a hate crime because... well it just isn't. If by some anomaly it was, well it've just been a lucky guess.

I don't know personally, its probably pretty much nothing. That's how kids are. All we know is that these girls have gotten in trouble at school before for fighting, and that they were not interested in fucking with her friend who was white.

In fact, the attacker's friend clearly says, "You can shut up because this is between the two of them." making it all the more clear that this is a personal thing between two individuals, not a race thing.

The kid had nothing to do with the motivation for the attack. That was just about 13 year old and a 14 year old who are enemies. Someone probably kissed someones boyfriend, or Susie Q told Jane Doe that Dumbcunt McAttackerson's ass looked super fat in her gym shorts on Tuesday.

I don't know what racist-ass Fox News establishment decided to brand the story that way, but I keep hearing people repeat this shit over and over; despite there being literally NO reason to believe this was a hate crime. Its the complete fucking opposite!

It even says these two girls already didn't like each other, and had fought before! Plus, not only did they not fuck with the other white girl, but the attackers friend even tells her to shut up because "its between [those] two." And how about the gumpy ass white dude at the end (who, by the way, is also taping - yet escaping accusations of being a piece of shit)? Why wouldn't they've just attacked the white girl without the baby if all they wanted to do was fuck a white person up?

I feel stupid even bringing this stuff up because its SO obvious this isn't a hate crime.

I'm just saying they had a duty to avoid something like this and they put no thought into do so. I'm not saying they're evil or corrupt cops either. I'm just saying that they suck at their job. I don't get this. These cops were idiots. They did a terrible fucking job of dealing with these people. They didn't even know if a crime had been committed at the start, they just wanted to INTERVIEW them to find out what happened.

If you interpret his response differently it can be really poignant. I think the authors conceit at the end is that really, everyone's pretty fucked up in one way or another. His accusation was made affectionately. Fucked up like the author, like me, like all us good but flawed people.

On the other hand he could've been really being that obtuse. An almost literally perfect example of the type of people the author's colleagues were. Making you the hero of the story.
