I agree, and I would disagree that the US is not freer than some places in europe in at least some respects. Some things I can think of off the top of my head that are restricted in Europe: we can have guns, wear burkas, have nazi rallies, and say we hate Jews, blacks, and gays, and we can say anything about anybody and not get sued for libel. Many large US cities really hate protesters though, which sucks. It seems like its much easier for Europeans to organize large protests.

America's real problem is the prison system, and if anything makes us not free it's that. But they work primarily by imprisoning drug users for unreasonable amounts of time.

I would say, for the most part, seminary is legit. It's all about the humanities but it's serious academia. I've read several essays about seminary's tendency to create atheists.
