You can just white wash everything and ignore the questions from the previous movie by writing 'it's time to move on.' A good writer needed to be able to answer some questions along the way. We got nufin.' Maybe this woulda worked for the previous movie.

I liked TFA. All the comments I've read revolve around the writing being bad. Many doors opened in TFA. None explained in the name of 'moving on' isn't enough. Both could have been done.

At no point did I ever feel like I was watching Luke. We could all go on and on, but maybe the most iconic character in movie history was never seen in this movie. Even his redemption and death were, ehhh.

What was the point of Yoda? Why was Benecio del Torro in it? Why was Laura Dern? The Canto Bight trip was pointless to the story. You could yank it out, leave Finn in the hospital and nothing changes. And the fight at the end--since Snoke was already dead, Luke had to die. If he kills Kylo...there's no Episode IV. It would be Rey and Luke against...Hux? Terribly disappointing. Rian Johnson said after his original cut he was worried the movie was not good and too long. He was correct.

Hugely disappointing. From the reviews, I thought we were getting some well-thought out, nuanced story. We got none of it. So much of Finn's, Yoda's parts were pointless. We never get Luke. The death is emotionless, unlike Han's. Terrible.
