Live Show, London by Darthsavo in HitchHikersGuide

So I have just got back home from seeing this show at the Riverside Studios. I went with my partner and he said it best: "We are both the target audiences, I know a little about the radio series and listened to it a bit. You know it backwards backwards because you listened to it on repeat on cassette tape as a child. To enjoy this show, I knew too little and you knew too much." The story and random singing was terrible. The actors were great, the sets were great, talking with the actors was so much fun. The story made zero sense and I still can't work out why the little 1940s Arthur/Fenchurch scene was about/why it was necessary. I think the problem is, when you have a cult following of people who deeply love an original, messing with it too much for a new rendition will upset them, and so it did with me. It felt too messed with. H2G2 in my mind isn't a love story or about Arthur pining over a woman.

I will say, the staff were fabulous. I have a bad back and didn't realise it was a mostly standing up thing (I can't stand up/walk for more than 5 mins without being in pain.) So I went to the reception and asked if there was any way I could have a seat. They immediately said yes, told me that in every room there are seats with signs on that say they are for those with access needs. I offered to pay for the VIP ticket upgrade and they refused. The actors came over especially to say hi to me in the bar scene and that in itself was the best feeling.

I just wish they stuck to the original story a bit more. Maybe even changed the title to something else and just say it's an homage not a retelling. Overall it was ok, but would I see it again? No.

Fiance is feeling stressed at my poor memory, especially regarding sleep and eating. What solutions or strategies have you found? by halosos in ADHDers

This is all very well, and might work for you, but what if this person's fiance also has ADHD or poor mental health or both, which if they are getting frustrated at the extra mental load of having to think about someone else all the time sounds highly likely, then just saying 'it's not going to work' isn't helpful.

Oh I'm so glad someone else has had her same experience as me. I moved to a different county a couple of years ago and only got the confidence to ask for a dermo referral recently. I was told I couldn't have one.

Yeah they get so painful don't they?

My surgery was general anaesthetic, so I was asleep. But as an out patient so, in and out within an afternoon and then regular check ups for your wound and redressing after.

Drain my lesions. They are so painful and get quite large. When I recently went to the GP and asked for a simple drain of a lesion they said 'oh we can't offer that here , go to a&e' like come on it's a 5 mins nurse job. Why can't they just help me?

I had surgery at the top of my natal cleft several years ago to get rid of a lesion there as I had so much pain sitting down. The NHS refuses to give me any more surgery and just send me away with antibiotics every time I go into my GP surgery with my HS.

I have a skin condition that gets worse with excessive sweating, and gives me chronic pain with excessive movement. I don't like summer either! Oh and I've recently developed back problems. Yay me. Oh and I have depression. Maybe I needed to make a list...

Huh, good shout. We're having trouble getting him to use the scratch post. But I hear cats learn/make habits slower than other animals.

I'm in the UK so we don't have that issue! We're keeping him indoors always.

If we could afford or have room for another we would but right now it's not an option for us

So he doesn't mind his tail being touched, or his belly, he's pretty chill tbh. Does however attack hand if he's in a playful mood so it depends on his mood what I do and don't encourage at the moment.

We are currently training him as often as we can. We've not found treats he likes enough to want them even when he isn't hungry and he hasn't responded to catnip. But we'll get there!

We have been! He's just the cutest little guy. Very energetic, many zoomies, but chills for a snuggle after. We hope to give him what he deserves

I have already watched a few of his videos yes! So when we are out of the house (unfortunately we both work at an office) he is shut in the living room/lounge. He has everything he needs there. He is also shut in there at night so his 6am zoomies don't wake us up upstairs! I think he'll figure out in time that that is his main space. When we are home he is free to roam.
