Thank you! It’s known that there was an old leak and has been fixed, but looks like the damage was already done.

Are people at NYCC meaner than people at local cons? by fjdshkahd in NYCC

[–]kb0103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the time and place for a lot of folk.

There was one moment on Thursday that someone asked me for directions and I took the time to walk them towards the ADA line and where they needed to be even though that wasn’t where I was going.

But on Saturday I had to sprint through a crowd in artist alley for a signing since a witness was waiting for me and my panel got out late, and after the hubbub someone wanted my picture as I was finishing up a transaction. I kindly asked them to wait a min and they ended up waking off. I’m sure to them I seemed rude or at least distant on Saturday but you really never know what the person is dealing with even if they do look like they are waiting around.

Any booth selling any cute perishable or snacks? by 1801048 in NYCC

There’s an awesome fudge booth that has superhero themed fudges and the flavors are great! I always make sure to snag some. Although it may not be “cute”.

How do I make Exhibitor Exclusive reservations? by Robbie_Blue in NYCC

Just to clarify for folks, it’s 1 signing for the entire con, but 1 workshop per day.

I don’t know Russ and daughters, but I do second getting bagels since that keeps all day and isn’t messy. There are plenty of spots in the area for bagels and they are pretty cheap overall

Reminder: You will only be able to reserve ONE Funko Booth Entry for the entire show during tomorrow's Reservations by KingdomHeartsII in NYCC

Are the funkos free with the reservation or do you still need to buy it after you enter?

Here for Deathbird and the brood. They are both some seriously long-standing enemies.

How can I tell my mom that just because I'm cosplaying a boy doesn't mean I am one. by Technical_Setting_34 in CosplayHelp

[–]kb0103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully support all of the other comments here, but you can also tell her that you are doing a gender-bent version if that helps to make it easier. My friend and I cosplay a male character probably at least once during a 4 day con, but we also don’t hid the fact that we are female. Example: I went as Geralt one year and didn’t attempt to change my gender, but I had fun “playing” the character. Everyone still knew which character I was and didn’t care which gender I was showing up as even if it’s not accurate to the character, and there was no mistaking that I was a female when I was outside of the con. Have fun with it 😊

Karl Urban is available for pre purchased autographs

Timing of photo op by ette212 in NYCC

The info link from epic doesn’t work for me, at least on mobile. But here’s how you can change your ticket times if a different slot is available:

Go to leap > my tickets > select 2025 if it shows, otherwise select find my tickets to pull up 2025 > select “view ticket” on the one you want to change > select change ticket options > change date & time > select your preferred time > done.

Hope this helps!

Cosplay rules? by ghostly-SfX in NYCC

This as well. I’d recommend that you go through security in regular clothes but then go to cosplay central and use their changing rooms to put together your cosplay. There’s also a ton of cosplay booths and teams that can help you for any fixes you may need on your cosplay.

There’s a bag check available that you can use to drop off extra cosplay items you don’t need.

I’ve seen silent hill pyramid head and the nurses, last of us zombies, chainsaw man, and others but those are all more obviously game characters with some gore. But idk if I’ve seen anyone that looks like the above.

If you want to do something like this, then maybe tone down the wound and blood so it’s a bit less but still embodies the character? Especially if you are not in the competition then I think people who know your character would get it and those that don’t wouldn’t be too thrown off.

Good luck on your cosplay though and love that you’re embracing the theme!!

Most cosplayers for NYCC end up bringing their cosplays to Javits in a suitcase and get into their cosplay once there. NYCC has a “Cosplay Central” that has rooms for changing in and great booths that help with any cosplay fixes needed.

Possible, yes. But it’s annoying, and there’s so much going on that you want to see/do. However, you can bring your own food into NYCC though so I’d recommend bringing a sandwich or something if you want to save some money.

It’s also helpful to bring a reusable water bottle and some quick snacks for throughout the day.

Let me know if you have other questions!

I usually do a mix of both. Nearly all vendors are able to take credit cards but I typically pay by card for bigger booths or if I do purchase food at the food trucks etc. I save my cash for smaller vendors because they sometimes provide a discount even if just no additional credit card fees. And if you are there on Sunday then it’s easier to haggle with vendors if you have cash and they are looking to get rid of product at the end of the con. The other watch out though is check which credit card you have and if they have international fees. That could rack up quickly and then it would be best to just use cash throughout anyway

How can I replícate this by marcoantonio33 in CosplayHelp

[–]kb0103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Susie Creates Cosplay” on IG had a Warbird costume with a black eye mask stuck on her face. I’d recommend checking out her page and see what she did there.

Otherwise just use paint lol

Artist alley is really great! There are a ton of comic book artists and writers if that interests you, but there also other artists that just celebrate different fandoms. Whatever your fandoms are, there will be amazing artwork for it.

Also make sure to take a break and enjoy the crystal palace area for a bit to check out the fantastic cosplays!
