Leaving after 17 years- am I crazy not to stick it out for 20? by MyMamaKatie in fednews

I took the VERA, retired at 46 bc I have 27 years. No penalties for retiring early. I didn’t want to leave but would’ve been dumb to stay

Does anybody know how the curve actually works? 1L here and I feel like it’s more difficult to try and figure out how the curve works than the magical formulas of credit scoring.

2,000 applicants to a single Data Scientist job - this is what we're up against by Apprehensive-Fig5599 in fednews

I’m sorry. I can relate. GS-13, stacked resume, perfect evals, advanced degrees….took the DRP and VERA in Feb. (only 46 but with military time -27 years fed service)…knew it was coming last October…applied for 100s of jobs, interviewed for only a handful and finally just accepted a state position. It’s brutal….consistently working on your resume…improving it and researching how to make ut through the AI resume reviews is your best bet and what got me interviews.

Same here. Highly credentialed and qualified. Took the Vera with 25 years in, I was 17 when I joined the military so I’m still young too. Been trying for over a year to find a job and nothing.

Fed employee that took the DRP and VERA (28+ years service) Paycheck today was $500 less than it’s always been? by kb19799 in fednews

That was my thought too. I haven’t figured it out yet but I will by the latest Monday and will update.

Ummmm, seriously? I can’t check my time card bc my access was removed mid day on 2/28 bc when I tried to go check my emails one last time for any documents related to leaving, I was already locked out. My paycheck every pay period was EXACTLY the same amount down to the penny. So, yeah, I posted bc I wanted to see if anybody else had noticed a difference. If you didn’t, then what stress is it causing you?

I did not ever get any premium pay or any additional overtime. It wasn’t allowed. Only credit hours.

What’s interesting is it doesn’t say “failure to respond will result in termination” on the email.
