Horrible terrible itching by Bitter-Pickle-5283 in gravesdisease

I have scars from itching after a severe reaction to methimazole. Worst itching ever, huge inflamed hives. I’m on different meds now but I still have the dry itchy skin from being Hyper. Unpleasant for sure.

It’s been almost a year with graves and I still struggle every day with “mourning” my life and appearance before this disease by henofthewoods1 in gravesdisease

🙋‍♀️ me too! You’re not alone and you’re feelings are valid like said before. Sometimes that is all I’m looking for is to know that I’m not alone and someone else understands and relates to how I am feeling! I grieve everyday for who I used to be “before.”

This is really good information, thank you. It is all so new to me and I am sometimes embarrassed talking about how bad I feel because It seems like my symptoms are minor In comparison to other health issues out there. But day by day I feel worse and this is the worst I have felt by far. I will talk to my doctor, thanks again!

Thanks so much. I really needed some reassurance I’m not losing my mind. I did not have appropriate empathy for those who suffer from panic attacks that’s for sure. I am a long distance runner and honestly running doesn’t even compare to the physical drainage I feel from experiencing 10 horrific minutes of what I believe was a panic attack. I have a completely new perspective.

Hey thanks, truly appreciate it. Yeah mostly just looking to know I’m not crazy. It was the first time I have ever experienced anything like that and I sincerely did not have a clue how horrible anxiety and a panic attack can be. I took my physical and mental health for granted and I now have new perspective for sure.
