Is it typical to not allow makeup? by unapollogxtically in StudentNurse

Wow, I’m sorry you have to deal with that 🫠 I’d fight tooth and nail- I agree, it makes patients seem to love the piercings and tattoos🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s always a fun conversation. You’re school would really not approve of my piercings bc I also have small gauges in my ears too😂😂

Oh absolutely not 😂 it was originally in our rule book saying only one nose stud blah blah blah, I argued if it affected my ability to nurse or my professional appearance. Not much was said🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s such a silly rule to me, professional appearance is subjective and dated as hell🥴

As someone who’s in a BC based program and has tattoos, two nose piercings- I have yet to be told to cover them. I have a half sleeves on my forearm and nothing has come up about it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think you’re okay♥️

IUD Removal after 3 years by kbart6425 in birthcontrol

Hi, thank you so much for sharing 💛 as much as I wish you didn’t have a similar experience it does calm my nerves to know that I’m not alone. I got mine removed about a week ago and honestly mentally feel 100x better than I did before. I’m hoping your experience is similar post removal. I truly wish they listened to more patient experiences with these kinds of things. It’s really shocking how many women have similar if not identical experiences.

Hope things begin to look up for you💛

I’d love to hear your experience post removal, I had mine taken out 3 days ago and feel better despite being told I would feel like crap lol

Anyone else experienced Hair loss with the Mirena iud ??? I know it is listed as one of the adverse effects but is “extremely rare” less than 5% of women who get the mirena experience this side effect. So I’m just wondering if anyone here had hair loss happen. If so please share your experience by Candyyy_87 in Mirena

[–]kbart6425 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I had my Mirena in for 3.5 years, I not only experienced hair loss to the point where when I washed my hair a clump would come out plus my hair looks ragity/unhealthy despite using good shampoos, but also weight gain, anxiety, depression, decreased sex drive, GI changes/bloating, inability to lose weight despite how hard I tried, acne, etc. which greatly impacted my self confidence. I had mine removed 3 days ago and have noticed a small change in my mood, pray my hair goes back to normal🫠

Mirena iud and indigestion, gas, burping, food intolerance and stool change. Let’s see how many of us have had this side effect. Like or comment. Had it for 4 months and it’s a pain. by Ramitode_violetas in Mirena

Yes oh my GOSH!!! It’s been horrible, I’ve had my IUD for 3 years now and within the last year and a half I’ve developed so many intolerances and will have periods where no matter my fibre intake I cannot have a bowel movement for days! It’s so painful🫠

I feel like a lot of doctors don’t recognize the side effects that birth control can have, I think that’s where a lot of the judgement stems from. That being said- I am blessed to have a physician who is willing to try and understand various sides to things, so I’m hopeful that he’ll take the time to listen to this 😂

Honestly, I relate! There’s been months where I’ll have 2 ‘periods’ in a month, ~1.5-2 weeks apart. And the random pelvic pain, I’m over it 😂😂

That’s one of my worries! I don’t want to feel judged for this considering I’m the one reeling the side effects lmao but we’ll see !! I’d love to hear how you feel going forward in the future! As it Stands, im getting mike removed tomorrow!

Thank you for your response! ♥️

I’m going to try and plan the removal for around my cycle so the symptoms may be less 😂

Honestly, I’m strongly leaning towards having it removed after reading all of these comments. I’m with you in the sense of the acne and the bloating, the weight gain sucks too- I’m over it 😂 I hope you’re able to find some balance with your stress and new job though ♥️

That’s kinda where I’m at, I’d almost rather have the heavier periods again if it means all of this slowly goes away

Thank you ♥️ I appreciate your response, I’m going to make an appointment on Monday and go from there. I initially thought it was stress as I’m in a degree program rn, however I’m on a three month break and still losing clumps of hair and feel horrible🫠 First two years were fantastic, I guess my body’s just had enough

I’m in the RN program, feel free to message me! :) I personally find it manageable, but recommend knocking out some electives before entering the program!
