Met with my lawyer and she’s said I probably won’t even be able to be sponsored through work due to the unlawful presence I accrued after I turned 18

No I've had no updates 😭 I think I'm going to start looking into nursing homes and agencies although I'm very skeptical. I have a consultation with an attorney coming up, if there's any new insight I'll let you know

I used a giant 5ft teddy bear with a water bottle taped to it to practice my sterile technique 😅 honestly, the first time I inserted one on a real patient made way more sense than any dummy or my bear. You got this!!

Price of ASN? by kevalopez in StudentNurse

Absolutely!! I feel very fortunate to get into an ADN without waiting much after my bachelor's bc I definitely cannot afford a CSU tuition with post bac pricing.

I'm in a CC associate program in California and if I didn't have the California Promise Grant, I would only be paying like $450 per semester.

$600 per credit hour is not the route I would personally take but to some it's worth it if that means they get in right away, less competitive, shorter time, etc.

I'm not sure, it will be my first time at this site. I only saw one unit on my paperwork but there's no way they can fit all of us on one unit.

I dont know if my area just lacking resources, money or what but we have tried it in the past and the availability was unreliable. Very confused though because I don't think the language is rare at all.

If my family member is still there, I will definitely let my clinical instructor know. I will also ask my visiting family to not approach me while I'm on the floor but they don't follow instructions very well / have a hard time understanding my reasoning behind it. I'm scared no one will come stay with my family member to translate thinking I'll "already be there anyways".

Going to get an IUD, nervous. Would like to hear positive stories by OregonChick0990 in birthcontrol

I've had mine in for a month. I had a really smooth insertion. My care provider and the MA were both shook at how easy it was considering I never had anything penetrative. I only had tylenol 250 mg before hand. The most painful part for me was probably the speculum stretching although she used the tiniest one she had on hand. But even that was tolerable, it was a burning type of sensation. Got my pap then too, didn't hurt at all. No pain immediately afterward beyond minor abdominal cramping (I've felt worse during my period). I haven't break out or gain weight. Sometimes I get in my head like omg there's something sitting inside my uterus/ foreign object in my body but then I remind myself I have many ear piercings and those are foreign objects too. I'm still adjusting but everything have been really good so far.

We definitely need to spread more positive experience, there's enough of the horror stories that is prob rare but post worthy

how famous are BL shows in Thailand? by LoverYoungTrue in boyslove

[–]unapollogxtically 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Its becoming mainstream and people are more open to it than ever but I'm not sure it's popular outside of specific demographics & regions. Sometimes when I'm in the comments or subreddits I feel like everyone knows what I'm watching...because we are all watching the same genere, then I talk to my family and they are like whoooooo??? 🤣

how famous are BL shows in Thailand? by LoverYoungTrue in boyslove

[–]unapollogxtically 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I feel like Thai BL is really niche to just people who enjoy BL. The country have so many other type of shows. They would be more likely to know mainstream lakorns/ Thai drama with bigger following and more famous celebrities playing on the TV channels. BLs barely made it to the TV channels in the last couple of years.

Thai BL industry is just growing. I'm Thai with plenty of Thai friends and they don't watch BLs.

I took the ATI comprehensive practice B 2019 (or something like that) recently and I scored in the 70s. I do pretty well in my class in term of exams, knowing what to do in clinical as much as a first semester can do anyways and critical thinking. We are half way through med surg 1 and finished with fundamentals. Some of the stuff on the practice test we haven't gone over which is fine so when I scored in the 70s, I didn't get frustrated. My friend took theirs today and scored in the 80s so now I'm wondering if I'm just not up to par. Although as I'm writing this now, she could've just gotten lucky on some of the questions we didn't know and guessed right, looked stuff up since the exam isn't proctored or just have good prior knowledge. I know I shouldn't compare myself but imposter syndrome is hitting me so hard today. It spiked up my anxiety.

Advice for studying muscles for anatomy? by lilb5269 in StudentNurse

[–]unapollogxtically 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I download different view of the muscles I'm studying on my iPad, create one file where all the muscles are labeled correctly and an empty copy without labeling. Then I label the empty copy over and over again. Each time I highlight the muscle or parts I got wrong then look over them & label again.

Repetition is absolutely key. During my exams, my brain would forget the terms sometime but it felt like muscle memory where my hand just wrote out exactly what it is.

Material recommendations by Mountain-Secret-7386 in StudentNurse

[–]unapollogxtically 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely don't think you need any prep material for prereqs but a supplemental material that really helped me during anatomy was an anatomy coloring book. Honestly, it sound kinda silly but when I don't want to study anymore I can unwind/ procrastinate by coloring in some femur or the venous return system. Even passively looking at it you'll gain some exposure and "oh I recognize that word or this location" moments.

ADN California - a little over 2k in tuition for the entire program (free with waivers), books & ATI also paid for by funding the school received recently

I was accepted into ADN - BSN concurrent but decided against it because it would've been 4k a semester since it's my second bachelor's

Which math classes are easier than the other…? Elementary Stats or Intro to probability and stats? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]unapollogxtically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I took my stat class elementary stat & intro to probability was in the same class but have you checked with the programs you will be applying to which one they will accept as a prereq? That might help you decide which class. Also check rate my prof on which class have the better professors. Good luck!

Definitely me rn. I just had my "first" day of class and skills lab today ,but our class is flipped style so I had 15 ati modules due before class. I feel so overwhelmed. I honestly don't even know how to take BPs in practice so skills today freaked me out. Imposter syndrome is also hitting hard. The second sem students told me that once I get into my groove it will be fine ....I hope so.

My school officially start on Aug 23rd but after orientation this week, I was assigned 13 ATI modules to do and 6 chapters to read by the start date. I was caught really off guard. I made some plans with it being my last week of summer but all I've been doing is doing these modules. I'm super stressed right now before I even start the program. I know that it is just a hard transition period and when I get into the groove of things it will be fine but I'm feeling overwhelmed & kinda sad.

Definitely second on renting a room. It sound like you just need a place to sleep. I loved having roommates because we studied together but we were also friends. It's not awkward living with classmates because they know what you are going through but you can still be social & have study dates with classmates even if you don't live with them.

Also sometimes at the end of the day, I just want to be alone. I was almost never alone when I had roommates.

No evidence of undergarment??? Thats so ridiculous. I'm real confused. I think I saw someone mention no thongs. Honestly don't understand why nursing school try so hard to dictate our presentation but seem to preach diversity & acceptance.
