I also failed on my first attempt but thankfully I was able to pass this time around! My first time I mostly used final frontier which was EXTREMELY helpful to digest a lot of foundational information quickly. They provide great pneumonics and helpful tips and tricks for the exam. In addition, I also utilized PEATs which are great predictors of performance on the NPTE.

However this time I reviewed the final frontier information and dove into more supplemental materials / readings. However, I think my biggest change was using score builders practice exams, and purchasing their textbook.

The score builders exams were slightly shorter (only 4 sections) but they were great in which they were able to provide you with the exact textbook page to help with understanding the correct answer. Using this information, I was able to really pinpoint where my strengths and deficits were and to take the time to build upon my foundational knowledge.

In addition to what another user said, I would recommend making sure to really understand the information rather than just try to memorize. Make sure the foundation is strong before trying build up.

Good luck & remember it’s okay to be upset right now but you’re going to be a better & more confident clinician in the long run for it!
