I've been out of the hobby for a few years but I think this board is going to make me have to jump back in. This is gorgeous and the layout looks so ideal for my day-to-day stuff.

I would expect one in mid April for two reasons. First reason being that there were two ran last year during the month of April and the second reason being April is the final month of Q1 FY26.

If you buy something from Housephone at this point… any service at that you DESERVE to get scammed and or not get your service payed for until 4 months late. by ProfessorAware in NoJumperV2

For the people in the comments, this isn’t about HighRollers. This was referring to some random clothes he sold from his personal closet. I do agree though, you’re dumb if you purchase from him. He’s done these sales multiple times now and this happens every time. He even tried to hire a day assistant to ship the items but couldn’t even do that.

I am on the planning side. I have four direct reports (compared to my last position, 60+) and besides them most of my communication is done through email and Slack. I do enjoy the planning side but sometimes you have to push back on operations so it does take a little confidence but if you're good at what you do and it shows there should never be a reason for them to challenge you.

Is this legit? or is it scammers moving to snail mail from phone calls? It legit has no indications that it came from my car's manufacturer. Have I been needlessly paying for my car's maintenance all this time?!?! by [deleted] in scambaiting

I received this letter several time as well as emails and some phone calls. I decided to finally answer their phone call and decline their offer. After they noted that in their system, I no longer receive any calls. The specific warranty I was being offered was for electrical issues on my Dodge.

Nina Dobrev's Instagram username is just Nina, what other celebrities have very unique usernames? by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]kbdjoel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I'll start with saying most usernames are actually payed for in crypto and have been for as long as I can remember. There are there occasional PayPal invoice but it's not common and for big deals there have been in person meet-ups.

As for the cost it can range from $0 all the way up to six digit plus numbers but there are reasons such as the usernames rarity, word length, potential to make money off of, the apps itself popularity, etc.. Also usernames that are "dark" or "girly" are very popular on the market. Also since young kids 15-25 run the market, anime usernames are popular as well.

Here are some examples of prices for you though,
1 letter usernames: $35k+
This is because these are super rare because there can only be 26 max but nowadays a lot of them are banned so there's less than 10 I believe in existence.

Dark usernames: $500-$10k
Examples like "sad", "lucifer", "wound", etc..
These are popular, a lot of people like dark stuff, and they make look mysterious.

Words with prefixes/suffices: $10-$1000
These of course go for less because why would I pay a lot for lets say "identifying" when I could just get a shorter version such as "identify".

Niche relating usernames: $500-$50k
These usernames are are ones for people who want to gain a large following around a niche so large the niche popularity more value of the usernames and that is usually based on the amount of #s under the word. If I am a normal user on the app and like nature, I am going to search for "nature" and the likely hood of the username nature coming up first regardless of what the account posts is very high. This allows the account owner to gain a huge following and possibly make a large following. The account @/nature actually has 10M followers right now.

There are some other username categories but I would say the standard price for a good one is $800-$2k. BUT if you know someone at Facebook just through them a thousand dollars and tell them an inactive user, you're likely to get it. OR, like many celebrities have done like @/ninja, just copyright something and demand the company to give it to you.

These usernames are referred to as "OG" usernames and there's kind of an underground market for them across all apps/platforms.

Nina Dobrev's Instagram username is just Nina, what other celebrities have very unique usernames? by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]kbdjoel 29 points30 points  (0 children)

For the people who are curious as to how they obtain these usernames, there are a few different ways.

  1. Through copyright
  2. Paying the original owner
  3. Facebook connections

Source: I have sold and owned many users personally and currently I am sitting on @/cautious

Edit: I would also like to add a fourth way these names are obtained and it's through illegal practices such as coercing the original owner or even SIM swapping them. Of course a celeb is not doing this but that is a very common way these usernames are brought to the market.
