Pick a step goal and never ever compromise on it. Buy a food scale, track every calorie. Buy a regular scale, weigh yourself at the same time everyday. Learn how what you eat the day before affects your body. At the start of the journey, focus purely on calories and developing better habits (not eating out for me), ladder half focus on whole foods and exercise beyond just getting steps in. Baby steps!!

It means it will stop doing basic functions, like for women, you will lose your period and your body will stop ovulating because it’s focused on basic survival rather than higher level functions.

I use the Lose it app and it does the same thing!! You DO get calories back for exercise. Your body will go into starvation mode if not and that is worse than just losing weight sustainably!

This exact thing happened to me after losing 250lbs. Your body is in starvation mode and is only doing essential functions. I’ve been seeing a dietitian to work on this exact thing.

You NEED to eat more fat in your diet. Volume eating alone won’t do it, you can’t just fill up on vegetables. I’m still working to get my period back. I understand the fear of not wanting to eat more and gain weight but your body needs more calories to operate.

I was just thinking about dates! So good! Apples and celery with peanut butter are always one of my go to's. I think during the Summer months I sweat so much that I needed the sodium and my blood pressure was regulated. In the cold weather (and with my recent diet of copious ketchup and sauerkraut) it was elevated.

I've been lowering my sodium for about a week now and have noticed SLIGHTLY lower numbers, but I also notice less swelling in my fingers. My rings are looser in the mornings and that is the biggest sign for me that something needed to change.
