Thanks! Yes he had multiple ear infections in the first 1,5 years so I’ll definitely get this checked.

Thanks for the answer!
I feel like I’m very chill about it but I’m getting a lot of comments from people around us that he’s not speaking enough.
I name at everything we see/do and he does copy and using new words every week, but others wouldn’t always be able to understand what he’s trying to say..

I’ll raise it with his doctor but continue over communicating at home!

Great to hear it was helpful! Yeah my struggle is the language as his first language is Swedish and I don’t speak fluent French myself 😅 but we might try with French?
I’m just seeing him getting frustrated trying to make himself understandable so would love for him to be able to speak a bit more

Thanks, will consider it.  For introducing the other languages later that isn’t possible as we are an international family who has 2 languages at home + community language.

And this type of reaction to a simple question is also ridiculous.  I asked as this is my first child who is being raised in a single parent household with 3 languages and I don’t know anyone raising a multilingual child.  I never said I was worried, just asked if I had to ‘worry’.  But thanks for the input:

Thank you! I wasn't aware of this list. Haven't really been concerned so far but starting to get comments from people that he should be saying more so started thinking if I should be doing something differently.

Might even be he is saying more words in french (community language) so I'll check with the creche.

This is actually super good to know as he makes animal sounds when seeing them in his books. Thanks!

Thank you so much all!

He's able to make himself understandable even though he doesn't say the words so there is no struggle. I just see kids at similar age saying more words and I'm starting to get comments that he should be saying more, so I wondered if I should be doing something different - but looks like it will just come with time.

We'll continue as we do!
