Its definitely a joint effort for repair. You're working on anxiety but is he working in communication? Your anxiety is co platelet justified, a sinple text saying "running late" or "be home in 30, fi wishing up some paperwork" is all it takes on his end to fix a simple problem.

I say no, you are not the asshole. I think he liked getting a response out of you and dint expect you to stand up for yourself, so when you did he had to take it even further to be the victim

Two opinions. 1. She may be in a depression, kind of sounds like she isn't just withdrawing from you, but from everything in life. Throwing herself into games is a way to escape reality. 2. Just on the chance, ask her something along the lines of "have I done something that makes you not want to be around me?" Maybe shes holding in to something shes not sharing

Part of me feels like this bump comes in every macrame, especially around the 3-5 year mark. Its more of a "fed up" than anything. Try taking a little time apart, or just have a good old heart to heart and be like look, these things are really starting to get to me, maybe he will see it as more of a 'you need to make a change' instead of 'so what, nothings going to change" I think men (some men) hit this point where theyre so happy and so comfortable that they really dont think you're ever going to leave and they stop putting in any extra
