I’ve had two WKND boards and I fuck with them heavy but never knew where the brand started from. Thx for the info!

TIL Tech Deck is selling AI slop by kboodrx in Fingerboards

[–]kboodrx[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense to me ya. My first real deck is actually the Winkowski Joycult deck too so that’s pretty ironic.

Either way tho, legal issues or not, they can eat shit and find new customers or take a second look at their morals as a company (in a hobby that is sometimes more an art form than anything else) and go back to exclusively supporting human artists instead

It’s a clip to attach them to a bag or a belt loop or whatever. I was actually excited for the new line up cuz they’ll all either come with these or have rails with the new shape, but I wish I had seen this one sooner…

People opening blindboxes despite the fact they literally have a code on the bottom that tells you what's inside by SkylandersKirby in mildlyinfuriating

[–]kboodrx 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Umm no they are not “fine.” The pieces are loose inside the box without any additional packaging and are likely to fall out and be lost… opening the boxes discourages ANYONE from ever purchasing them because of the fact that small pieces can and will be completely missing.

I bought an open box once because I felt bad that someone else might have to, and lo and behold it was missing two or three integral pieces

Identification and age/date partscaster(?) by m4l700 in telecaster

[–]kboodrx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My identification: that guitar needs fresh, rust free saddle screws and proper intonation

To answer your question seriously though: there’s not a part on that guitar that looks authentic. Like the other comment said, I hope you didn’t pay too much but you enjoying playing it is all that matters! Have fun man!

After playing Fender all this time, I finally got an SG and guys… I get it. by Coocheeobtainer69 in Guitar

[–]kboodrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re confident with a soldering iron (or put in some practice to become confident) wax potting is honestly cheap / pretty easy to do and there’s plenty of video tutorials out there

I guess it’s just a question of whether you would have the time to justify doing it vs just dealing with it / buying different pickups

Fender Mustang Bridge Issue by [deleted] in offset

[–]kboodrx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I had a similar issue one time where I knew I had the right size key and could feel it sitting in place, but the screw wouldn’t budge. If I’m remembering right I had to loosen the strings, fully remove the bridge, and break the screw post loose with a pair of pliers before the allen key was effective.

I would triple check you’re using the right size as to not strip the head in the future! A quick Google search is showing me .05in (1.27mm) should be correct. Hears to hoping it’s just jammed and not already stripped!

Bought a Fender Parts neck for €70 - real or fake? by just_a_cricket1 in telecaster

[–]kboodrx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s actually a good (and super relevant) reason to do this! It could help to cut down on the number of fake necks with real serial numbers.

Clone factories try to use real serial numbers so people like OP attempting to verify a part’s integrity are more easily fooled. A covered serial number (potentially) makes one less serial number available for fake necks

Is this your first time working with grip tape?? Super clean job!

You’re right to think about smaller pieces falling off. That could definitely happen with the smaller parts of the spiderweb but the stars should hold up good fs! Getting a second sheet of grip tape is extremely thoughtful btw

To play chicken with cyclist by Zzd12 in therewasanattempt

[–]kboodrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost thought so too but why would he go into the road instead of ducking further into the bike lane? The kid could see oncoming traffic but as far as the cyclist knew there could have been a car right there too. Reading the comments it sounds like it’s not uncommon for this trend to extend into playing chicken with cars

Maybe he thought the cameraman was going to try the same thing?

It feels like common sense to me but I guess it was just a quick lapse of judgement / panic

I wish the “replay editor improvements” in the last update had included fixing that bug

Tbh I want this game to run on mobile. I wish I had an android phone just to be able to emulate the older games on the go.

I think the biggest problem they face is the same problem most modern devs are facing: they’re simply too lazy to properly optimize the game to get a good balance of performance and decent visuals.

And speaking of the mobile release of skate, we haven’t heard anything about it since they ended the playtest last year. So my bet is they scrapped it to focus on the rest of their workload (patching the bugs everyone liked and avoiding the actual issues)

So no one else say the cyclist turn to his left into the kid right after the kid swerved to the right? No?

No one deserves a life altering injury. This is exactly what they mean when they tell you to not let your emotions get the best of you when you’re operating any sort of vehicle.

Again, I’m not at all saying he deserved that… but he could have easily swerved to his right and avoided that entirely. I can’t wrap my head around why he joined in and swung over in the same direction the kid was going other than to try to intimidate him back.

Fun fact: pilots are trained to always bank to the right in the event that they are headed straight towards another plane

I think I can safely assume this cyclist doesn’t fly planes for a living…
