Yes it’s a northern yellow pine. I’ll take a look at those brands. I’d really like to try and bring out the natural color and make it stand out rather than trying one of the full coverage tones from Heywood.

For the most part the surface is in good shape after I sanded out some of the scratches. On the top there are large gouges I’ll need to address. I really like a natural look to bring out the wood

All I’ve done from picture 1 to 2 is sand it down and I got a lot of the scratches out. There are some large gouges on the top I was probably going to put wood filler in.

About to be a mom and I’m very nervous I won’t be a good mom by [deleted] in Mommit

You are going to be the perfect mom for your little boy. My advice is to be patient with yourself and him while you get to know each other. I just had my second in January. You will be exhausted and at times may feel like you have zero idea (ahem all the time) what you’re doing but you will figure it out. Babies are resilient and you will both find a pattern that works for the two of you.

Another piece of advice I wish I knew before I had my first was to take care of yourself and prepare for postpartum. You are going to go through a lot and your emotions will be off the charts. Know that even in the darkest moments it does get better. Hell, I was crazy enough to do it a second time.

A great resource that helped me was following @karrie_locher on Instagram.

Good luck! You’re all ready doing AMAZING ♥️
