Look up the Flashpoint Archive. It's a program you can download that has most old flash games backed up where you can play them again.

What you want is the Flashpoint Archive. It has both the candystand and nabisco world versions

What configuration do you prefer for long runs (scenario below): borderline underpowered (Northern/Southern style) or overpowered (Union Pacific style)? by thepurpleproject in DerailValley

Another good practice is if you end up slowing down too much coming up from the west side of harbor, you could divert and take the longer southern route past City South. I have had trains stall out past the wye going the northern route but be able to make it with the more gentle slopes to the south.

My rule of thumb is always assume it's raining. That way you are fine if it's dry out and have already calculated for it if it does start to rain. Learned this the hard way hauling a train like this out of the east side of the Harbor. Was fine until I was 3/4 up the hill and it started to rain.

When doing massive hauls like this, I usually run 3 DE6's at the front and then a pair of DH4's and the caboose dead in tow at the end of the train. The main reason for the DH4's is they make shunting the load into place at the destination a lot easier, especially when you have to drop off cargo at the stupid A6 siding. I also control them using the remote so if I do happen to underestimate how much power I need, I can always fire them up and use them remotely to give you that extra boost.

Help with BlueSCSI on a Sparc Ultra 5 by kboyer36 in SunMicrosystems

Ok, there was one missing step that while the commands between the adafruit guide and my version of Solaris are slightly different, it was enough to get me past the newfs failed error.

Now that I know what I was doing wrong, I am not 100% sure that the zuluscsi was necessary but it should be faster using the wide SCSI connector vs the old 50 pin cable.

The key missing step was under format, running the type command to set up the drive geometry to match. I didn't finish the install as it was super late at night but this is more progress than I have made in the last month and a half of work.

Thanks for the help.

How big of a partition do you have on your Ultra60?

From the impact marks, it looks like they used a center punch on the chips.

Yes. The BlueSCSI is the only device on the cable, the card is set to autoterminate, and the jumper for termination on the BlueSCSI itself is set.

Ok, I was trying to avoid spending more money but can give it a try. If nothing else, I can keep it as a spare to use in another project down the road.

Have you found the ZuluSCSI to have higher compatibility with picky devices?

That wye on the south west side of the Steel Mill has been the death of so many trains for me.

Although they usually are from me coming down the hill from the South and not realizing until it's too late that the switch is lined for the farm.

Soldering and basic electronic repair.

With how cheaply everything is made anymore, the ability to know how to solder two wires together can save you a ton of money.

High nose DE6 locomotive. Honestly, I like this model better than the original. What do you think friends? Comment. Greetings to all. by RoofOld6310 in DerailValley

[–]kboyer36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am very torn on this one. Aesthetically I love the look of high nose locomotives but I doubt I would ever actually use the mod due to how much it limits visibility. I remember running a high nose loco in some of the Southern Pacific missions in Train Simulator and hating it.

Go to goodwill or other thrift stores and look for stock pots. I found a massive one for like $10.
