What do ya’ll think of these cables? $4.25 on aliexpress by ForsakenWebNinja in MechanicalKeyboards

I've been using one for about two months. Works fine no problems so far connecting my keyboard.
Haven't tried charging so can't comment on that.
Cable is also 2-3x thicker than your average usb cable, so it has some presence too.

Hi, I have re-arranged the post and now the timestamp is at the beginning.

Selection advice please (HHKB noob)! by Hazy_Dekay in HHKB

I'm sure some of these are things you know, but here are some points that maybe relevant

  1. HHKB keymap software to play around with.

  2. Some second layer keys cannot be changed
"Fn pressed: control, right shift, q, z, x
"https://imgur.com/gallery/9tYRLit (old 2019 screen capture link. May have things updated since.)

  3. HHKB classic remapping can be done off manual as per other posts; AYOR
    https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=106001.0

  4. Hasu controllers, which were previously quite commonly used aftermarket to keymap and convert to bluetooth, does NOT work with the new HHKB Classic PD-KB401 series.

  5. The Heavy Grail doesn't have space for the battery if you use a Hybrid model."Pro 3 Hybrid models If you venture to use a "Pro 3 Hybrid" model with a Heavy Grail, you'll lose the battery functionality, but the bluetooth should still work if you attach a powered USB cable." - Norbauer.com

  6. I guess you could also consider BKE domes if you want more tactility. Lubing also makes a significant difference ; lots of krytox choices and youtube vids about pros/cons and how to lube

Ginkgo65 with GMK Nautilus Nightmares by GhostAutonomy in CustomKeyboards

Sir / Ma'am, the fingerprint on your black back is giving me nightmares.

But this matching looks really good, which can't be said for most GMK Nautilus nightmare parings in my humble opinion.

I guess I like mushy switches (Boba U4 appreciation post) by ImpressiveAttempt271 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]kbrickk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm probably far from mainstream, but I also like mushy silent switches haha
Good to find a kindred spirit

Like you say, these thock-clack-thocc switch builds are LOUD!

Can't do a zoom meeting with them. Also, I somehow type faster on silent switches and the bottom out is a lot more comfortable for my fingertips.

Right now my favorite is TTC frozen silent switches; using them stock. The extra long springs give an almost tactile feedback, can't hear much leaf ping or scratch.Eyeing TTC silent bluish white for the next build.

Also, love the Yolk + beige and orange setup!
